So the point is: the more features they add, the more conflicts and side effects come out.
So now after multimidi and qlink overlay, many problems are coming out.
Akai really should look for some serious beta tester, you cannot keep on adding bells and whistles and don't check if Mpc still works as before.
Kind of frustrating.

Man, 2.8 is full of conflicts.
Data dial stops working sometimes after using qlink overlay, instant track mute is not working as before, slice to pad is broken.
I am quite sure all is caused by new midi protocol and a bad implementation of qlink overlay.
What were the beta testers doing?
They only checked multimidi and forget about the rest?
It's not nice, man.
They made a huge leap forward on one side, and a mess on the other.

I am not 100% sure, but I would imagine most beta testers are regular users, or power users who like to help akai in der new firmware. So they are freelancing without getting compensated for that, they do it because they like the mpc and making music on it.
I find it a bit harsh to blame the testers for not doing a proper job or even blame akai for not testing every bit.
Of course its not ideal, but before blaming them, get signed for beta testing and help improve the product.

And wasn’t there like a good year ago the same situation where they released a small update some weeks later fixing some new appeared bugs..?

Come on.
It's 3 years I am changing and rechanging my projects because every update gives new trouble.
I don't who's to blame, but it's someone's fault, isn't it?
You call yourself Akai professional?
In my world, if you are professional you work good to give me a reliable product.
It took me 1 minute to notice my data dial was having problems after using qlink overlay.
I can understand beta testers are not paid and just want to help, but do it in a professional way, check everything, it's your duty.
And I am starting to be frustrated that Akai keeps messing up my workflow because of their amateurish attitude.
I mean, that's not professional at all.

The reason I moved away from software for most of my music is exactly the reason of your complaints and issues. You are under no obligation to update to a newer firmware. This is how the software world has been working for ages. If you want stability and something to work in a reliable fashion then do not upgrade, or make sure that you can roll back to an older firmware if necessary. At least these are not forced upgrades, like what you often see in the computer environment.

Yeah it makes sense.
I make what you say with my Macbook, I am still on 10.11 and stopped updating.
The problem with Mpc is that it was totally unready when I bought it and so updates were somehow necessary.
And now 2.8 solved some latencies and malfunctions I had with qlinks and touchscreen, sometimes I had issues when changing mode and qlinks were unresponsive.
You can clearly see now there has has been a very good optimization and all works fluently.
So I cannot go back to what was before. It's like playing a real fender telecaster after years of playing a Sakura. You get used to the best and you don't want to go back to your Sakura.
And I really like qlink overlays, it fastens my workflow.
But then these annoying issues with track mute and data dial.
Damn Akai.
A step forward, a step backward.
