So I'm selling my Live

And no, I'm not buying an X. That JJOS 2500 got me feeling spicy.

There is no better time for me than now. It is my strong belief these new joints won't stand up over time and should they manage to, they won't hold their value. My unit is in good shape but I have owned it since June 2017 and it's already discontinued.

I got mine for $1599 AUD. Right now the One is selling here for $1450 and on top of that the mk2 live is preordering at $1850. So I'm in that sweet spot to get my money back

Truth is I never loved the Live. The layout is meh and touch screen interaction is required. That's fine for utility but for spontaneity and performance it is not ideal. No power user ever would have designed it this way.
The enclosure is depressing and along with the pad rubber a dust magnet like no other gear I ever owned.
Aesthetics aren't everything...
of course function is the most important factor, BUT There are things that are still clunky af. Maybe 3.0 fulfills all the potential. There is absolutely so much to love about the scope of the new MPC ecosystem. I have used the machine in ways I never expected as well as learned new ways to approach sampling and sequencing. Also, recording instruments and especially vocals, right to the unit, punching in overdubs. Killer.

I'll be rocking it for a little while longer. I have to do a bunch of auto sampler Maybe when this cv19 is over with and I can fly back home I'll pick up a ONE on the cheap.

So I'm certain I'm selling it. It was always gonna end this way. BUT, I decided to dress it up in the 2kxl skin from MPC stuff and a new screen protector before I do. I always wanted to and it should help me fetch the price I'm after. The rubber coating is wearing out around the qlinks and main encoder and the og screen protector looks shabby when the machine is not in use.

I been quiet with the beats a couple years now. Been more into refining approach and methodology, keeping things as minimal as possible. Right now JJOS2500, iOS, BS2, Vermona retroverb, jomox tres, model samples. It's the knobbiest wonder land I've had in a decade maybe.

got me a electribe 2 first, nice machine, a lot of fun, portable but as soon as stuff gets interesting you have voice stealing and dropouts, sold it for an..

IPad. Installed beatmaker 3, truely loved this app, holy grail but then it started to crash hardcore, couldn't even load old beats without crashing, unusable..

Mpc one, super nice machine on a matured mpc firmware, price went through the roof and nearly swapped it for a new...

Tadaaa mpc live with big ssd and travel case, back again, love it, nearly perfect, portable..

Sometimes you know what you had until it's gone lol so think twice before selling it^^
