Connect iPad via USB MIDI, send MIDI to iPad

Hi,
I am a MIDI noob. Normally I find informations on the internet myself, but I dont get it right now.
I want to connect my ipad to the mpc and create programs with Auto sample.
I connect the iPad with usb on the mpc and put the usb in the camera connection Kit on the ipad, but the iPad is not dicoverable under midi/sync in the mpc Preferences.
There are many other Settings in the preferences midi menu, do i have to Check Something there?

As I understood correctly in the lautest firmware, midi is sendable via usb, at least it looks like that in the firmware Feature video from akai.

Doesn't work, the MPC would need to send out midi via the usb b port, but it only does it via the usb a port. Bluetooth works well though. Otherwise use a usb to midi convertor connected to the cck, or something like the korg plugkey

so it should work with a usb to lightning cable plugged in the usb a port on the mpc, then?

I want to bulk create a lot of auto sample programs with the ipad synths, bluetooth is not an option when all those created programs are not supertight and have to be delay/lag compensated for the bluetooth midi delay/lag..

No one has got it working via USB to my knowledge, I've tried it, others have also, it has to be either with USB-MIDI convertor or bluetooth.

I don't see what the problem is with bluetooth, MIDI latency is negligible, and regardless wouldn't be an issue with autosampling any way. If you're concerned that there might be dead space at the start of each sample, select 'auto trim'.

I wasnt aware of the auto trim function, bluetooth autosampling it will be, then:)
