Quick Question.....

I'm running my akai 2000xl with fl studio...and lovin it ...i'm finally starting to get the hang of things...feels good....the problem i'm having right now is when i sample a loop and then try and get it in sync with the beat on the akai that i produced i just cant seem to get it to line up...and actually once i did get it to but I'm using fl as my master and when i went to change the tempo there.....all the tempos changed besides the sampled loop....what am i missing here...what is the quickest way to get it to stay in sync no matter what i change the tempo too

So you mean that the MPC is a slave of Fruityloops and if you change the tempo in FL, the mpc get's a bit out of sync?

yes Fl studio is my master and when i change it's tempo the tempo on the mpc changes just fine with the beats but the sample i have with the beat does'nt change....how do i make it so the the sample changes with the tempo of everything else.....i'm really starting to dig the mpc.....i was a little lost there for a minute....but now..Whewww this is fun

Chop up the sample and then make a midi file of the groove. Load that up with the samples (slices) into your MP and your good 2go

Because your using a sample, u cant dictate its tempo by changing the master tempo....Get it

chopping the sample up and making the midi file...is that all done on the mpc or do i need to try and do that on my computer.....sorry kinda lost...lol

Recycle would come in very hand...Do the above in there then export as both wav & midi

Note:
Standard MPC programs dont follow the Midi arrangement, so you'l also need a blank program for your MPC where the pads are arranged in numerical order starting at 36 (Bank A Pad 1). U can make one in no time (SHIFT>8 then start re-arranging...Get your manual out if need be)

Once u done that, save it for future reference...Then, load each slice one by one in order. Load the midi file into the same seq and then.... Blam!

I kinda skimmed thru that, but with a little thought you'l get what i mean.

If you aint really looking to get all techy like that, scrap what I said and just find the tempo of your loop and stick to it - lol

Nah, find the tempo and do what you like...Timestretch it to a more desired tempo or pitch/tune it (you can find additional info on these techniques within the forum...Quick search and you'l be good)
