Thanks man. Try this:

1. Turn your MK2 off.
2. Make sure speaker is turned on and at about 75% volume.
3. Turn on your MK2.
4. Load a demo song.
5. Hit play.
6. Gently touch your volume knob and turn it down (and then up).

Does the audio quickly fade out and then back in again?

1. It was off
2. Turned Volume knob to 3 o'clock
3. Turned Mk2 on
4. Loaded Future House Demo
5. Hit Play
6. Slowly turned volume down and then up...

Sounded just like I would expect a normal fader, no drop outs, cuts, static, or anything.

Got my Live II today and gave it a try.

I think I can actually confirm this behavior, even with a track made by myself. First adjustment of volume after loading makes the overall level drop for a split second only to come back immediately. After that I can adjust the level without anything like it.

I'd assume it's something like adjusting the internal audio out level to the knob, as it most likely is not a physical poti but a VCA or something. So my guess would be software, not hardware.

Is there a specific volume state when you start up that causes this? I can try again to reproduce.

I've tried it with the physical volume knob set at various volume states when I first power it on. It's the same behavior no matter what.
