I kind of go back and forth on this but if I'm being honest, I'm not enjoying my Force and considering going back to a MPC Live or MPC X. I'm holding on to the Force for the slim hope that MPC Tutor makes a bible for it. Let's be honest, MPC Tutor did an outstanding job creating the MPC X/Live Bible. It opened my eyes to all of the great features and potential of that particular MPC that I couldn't discover on my own. So I'm hoping that I will have the same experience with the Force Bible. But I can also understand if he no longer has the desire to create it if Akai doesn't want to make this device complete. Sorry for being negative but the longer this update doesn't come the more I believe it won't or will come when most owners have sold or moved on from the Force. :Sigh:

Just a guess on my part, but I think Tutor has expressed before that the problem is the investment of time to write up a bible, only to have Akai release a update that would require a thorough rewrite. Also, without the arrangement mode, writing a Force Bible would likely be smaller and feel incomplete in a way that is hard to explain to customers.

I always thought Force was a weird decision from Akai since day 1.
It's not an Mpc but a kind of Mpc.
It's not Ableton but a kind of Ableton.
And Mpc has clips and Ableton integration.
What is it for exactly?

I don't agree with the comments on the previous page. It's because of our complaining the products are being pushed into the right direction. Also don't forget that the units were advertised with the following quote: Everything that you can do in the software you can do in the hardware.

We soon came to learn that it was a straight out lie..

Also don't misunderstand the people who complain , sometimes the complaining is done based on the love they have for a product.

Which Advertisement Was A Lie? The Original Advertisement I saw was for being Standalone.

The one thing I can think off right off the bat is audio recording. The software can do 128 tracks of audio and there is no time limit. The standalones can only do 8 tracks and there is a 5 minute limit per audio track.

Let's not talk about the advertised 2gb of Ram of Mpc and Force that actually is less then 1 gb.

The interesting thing is that it seems that a lot of people just buy something without even actually knowing what it can do or how it works. In my head this is just silly.. But i don't have a budget of thousands of euro's. I have to be precise and aware of what i buy.

100%

Even with a good budget, that's the best way to buy. For the price that I paid for the X and Live, it just wasn't worth it for the feature set I wanted, so I returned them. However, the MPC ONE gives me those same feature set for what I wanted to use it for. And like I said before, I got it for a really really good price. WIN/WIN!

I buy gear with 1 core feature in mind. So as long as it does the one main thing I need it for, then I'm good. Everything else is a bonus. Does not having the force arranger, stop the user from creating the music. If it does, then buy the force and don't waste your time.

It wasn't a lie, it does everything the software can do, just in a limited way. For myself, I don't buy gear to be and unpaid BETA tester. My job is to create and manipulate the machine so it does what I need it to do. If it doesn't do what they said and what I need it to do, it's goes back.

What was your musical reason for buying the MPC and what did it do, that would improve your creative process?

If i can remember....

The Advertising was somewhat correct yet a Play on words. Many people interpreted Audio Track Recording with the EXACT Specs as a Computer. In reality, IT CAN Record Audio Tracks (With Limits). I never read an Advertisement saying the Live/X can Record 128 Tracks in Standalone. Akai may have Omitted a few words that mislead, but I dont think it was "Lying".

Its called Creative Advertising! Like Sayin...."Zero Grams of Fat!" in Bold Letters..... yet having 2000 Calories from Sugar lol

Also, it does have 2GB of RAM...

THey Just omitted that Lot of that 2GB is allocated to the OS and other features. Leaving Less than a Gig for Sampling lol
A Play on words,.....But Not Lying

+100.

That's why you never trust marketing, only trust what you can test or a reliable source who actually uses the machine, everyday all day. Show me a person with 100 keyboards and I'll show you a person who uses only 1. But show me a person with 1 keyboard and I'll show you a person uses it, like 100.

No it doesn't have 2gb of Ram.
2gb are shared between Ram and Os.
So it was a lie and as a matter of fact Akai removed the sticker from the Mpc Box that said 2gb of Ram.
Also the idea that anything you could do on computer, you could also do on standalone was a lie as mr.Enoch pointed out.
And talking about now, calling the inbuilt speaker on Live2 a "monitor speaker" is a lie.
So that's Akai marketing.
But I do love my Mpc Live anyway, hoping they don't mess it up to add splices and whistles for the youngsters hiphop producers while messing up the internal architecture.

Thats why they enabled "Controller Mode".

So if you can't complete a Task in Standalone Mode, You can hook it up to the Software and Make it Happen!

Otherwise it would have just been a Standalone Unit with NO Controller Mode
