Blank LCD screen

So I just tried to replace my LCD screen with the v2 and since my unit is blown out it's really hard to get the ribbon to stay in securely. Thought I had it but when I powered up to test all I see is a blank blue screen.Help!!!?

Make sure the ribbon cable is fully inserted.
If I remember correctly for a newly installed screen you had to hold the Shift key then turn the Dial to adjust the View Contrast.

I got the ribbon in as far as I can started and held shift then turned the wheel ...Nothing! Still just blue. Thanks for responding by the way. Mpcstuff said the same thing when I asked them. I really want to hold on to this unit since its already blown out and it's hard to find one like that.
