Roland Fantom 6 into MPC Live 2. Getting double sound

Hi, just receive my MPC Live 2. I've probably been through every video on Youtube, but I can't seem to figure it out audio routing with MIDI.

I have Fantom plugged into MPC via USB, and the two audio outputs plugged into MPC input. I then go to MIDI program and select Fantom, and go to Audio 1 track and select IN to monitor audio. The problem is it seems that Midi is going into the MPC and playing the sound, and I'm also hearing the sound from playing it on the Fantom(phasing sound). Every video I'm finding is people playing an external hardware synth via the pads(which works fine). I can't find anything related to playing keys via the external synth keyboard. I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction on figuring it out?

I don't . Thanks so much. I'm really new to this hardware stuff coming from software for the last 10 years. I was messing with local switch and saw it in the docs but it seems it doesn't work until I write the setting. Thanks again

Was a big Fantom user back in 05-06 so Ill can try to help a bit, your connected via USB right?
First in settings make sure your on local off and also make sure it's sending and receiving midi through USB, also in settings...
2nd you have to be on the performance/studio page where you can see 16 channels, get those two and we'll go from there!!!!

I had a Casio Keyboard back in the Day....And it would do that Double trigger out of the Midi. It was a setting on my Keyboard...Unfortunately i can't remember what exactly it was. But im pretty sure its coming from the Fantom.

That's not it. It's the new technique called MIDI side chaining.

I think i remember....it was a "Layer" mode on the Casio. So make sure your Fantom is not in Layer or Perfomance Mode

You will loose the MIDI routing power of the Fantom if you choose local off.
Better you select the MPC Input Monitor to off.
The Fantom and the MPC are the perfect pair.
