End of Bars

Can anyone give me some tips on ending a bar so that it loops seamlessly? My problem is i'll make say a 4 bar loop, everthing sounds great until the loop folds, my drum pattern will be off (The first beat of the bar will be to close/far away from the last) and you can clearly tell because it dosnt transfer smoothly. Is this just inexperience or is there anything I can do to correct this?

most likly its timing correction. Set it to OFF or just keep practicing.

you have to learn to count the beats. practice using the "click" metronome. or just listen to your favorite song. usually a song will have 4 beats per bar. when you listen to a song start either patting your leg or bang on the table to the beat. as you count 1-2-3-4, you will notice when loops repeat or when they start from the top.

im assuming youre looping a sampled break and not programming individual hits. if you want the break to go on seamlessly, you either have to adjust the bpm of the loop itself to fit into the main bmp or leave the loop as is then adjust the main bpm to match the loop. maybe your break is not trimmed right so you may have to play with the soft end/start of the sample. you can rely on the graphics or on your ears to what sounds best to you. well, since you didnt specify which mp youre working on, thats the simplest i can explain... just keep fukcing with it

i think he is just programming it. not loopin a break.

then thats even esaier.. just practice getting the hits on time(with or without time correct) or step edit. as long as youre counting or following the metronome, things should be fine. afterall, the sequencers only playing back how you recorded in

I am not looping a sample break, I am programing my own drums with single hits, i guess I just need practice.

you can quantize it to snap into grid but you probly wouldnt want to do that. just fix up the mis-hits on step edit

chop up the sample as much as u can and keep playing around with the tempo.
