Audio not where I left it.

When I come back to a project, audio is sometimes missing from the audio track, why?

MPC Live/X/One In standalone? If so, which firmware are you on? Can you post a video of what you’re doing?

Looks like my project file is corrupt. I just recorded a randomly generated sequence after a re-flash of firmware and the original project I was working on still wasn't right, but the new one was fine. I've kinda half read some stuff on the internet about more than a single track set to the same input might cause this?

No, I was working on the song recording audio from midi parts when I noticed none of the parts were in place when I came back to the project file. I don't know how it happened, but now I'm sure the file is corrupt. I tried re-saving. to the card, internally and to a usb external drive, no luck getting it back to normal. I tried importing to the desktop version and saving there, again no luck. After all that I reflashed the firmware but still nothing, so for now I'm SOL. Hard lesson learned, always keep back up backups.

Same thing happened to me years ago using the Touch. I dont trust Akais audio implementation.
Been syncing the MPC X to Logic ever since, for my audio needs. No issues whatsoever..

I have just experienced this on both an MPC One and an MPC Live.

After recording 4 separate Audio tracks (at different times), when I come back to the project after a restart only one of the audio files remains and the other 3 are no longer on the timeline.

To be clear, the Audio files still exist in sample pool and in addition, the track names, levels and plugins are not affected, but the sample must be reassigned every time I open the project.

Started on 2.8, but updated both machines to 2.8.1 and reset prefs with no change.

For now I am going back to drum programs to play back the samples, but it's definitely puzzling.

With importing, do you mean you imported only the project file or all the samples/programs/sequences?

If you did the first, perhaps try the second option. Takes a bit of work but then you have everything back.

Alternatively, you could explode the tracks you have at the moment, insert them in your daw/mpc software and add the four audiotracks seperately.

OMG! On a hunch, after hours of lurking forum and despair, I decided to simply delete the audio tracks I was dragging my recordings onto. I then added new audio tracks dragged over the recordings from the project manager in desktop/controller mode and saved my project. (2.8.1)
I reloaded the song went back to check if they stayed this time and to my surprise found them where I left them!

WTF?! I must had already done this, but maybe not, in any case I'll take it!

I had tracked this down to a corrupt project/template, but hadn't come up with a fix. I can confirm that deleting the audio tracks (in my case I did it in standalone) and recreating them fixes the issue.

Fortunately it seems to be related to a specific project and not a system-wide bug.

Affirmative, not a system wide bug in my experience either.
