MPC One External Storage

You don't have a sound library other than what comes with your MPC? Interesting. I have several hundred gigs of samples and other material that I use. Regardless, they all go on 1 place (in my case, an integrated SSD on my Live 2). Same spot as my project files, stems, audio tracks, vinyl that I sample, etc.

Not exactly. On my PC, I have my drive set to automatically clone nightly. Never have to lift a finger.

Also I use two systems of storage: Backup which is data that I actively use and Archiving which is for long term.

As said earlier, it's good that you found a process that works for you. The OP, on the other hand, made no mention of working with uncompressed video, audio, and DNG and Raw Images. They're a beginner that is literally just setting up their MPC One. They'd likely be just fine with just a single SD Card, IMHO, and certainly less complicated than what you're proposing.

I have pretty extensive sound library, but for these MPC's it's not needed. Too many sounds causes decision paralysis, which isn't beneficial for consistently creating music. I see people with tons of gear and sounds but they can barely crank out one tracks a day. Plus the MPC filing system isn't the best for searching through thousands of sounds.

They may be beginner to the MPC, but not to music. It's always best to learn how to backup and archive at the start. I can go back and pull stems or two tracks from years ago in an instant. Because the system is sound and lends itself to being consistently productive.

I'm sure the OP will make a sound decision with the information offered. They have suggestions from both of us, and will likely do just fine.

100+ If not, the OP can always use an USB 250 mb Zip drive.
