Updating Firmware MPCX / Finding Update Mode

Can somebody dumb it down for me some more. I'm new to the technology and do not understand a lot of the terminology. Break it down step by step like you are writing a paragraph in the MPC Bible. Thank you

My MPC has been in Update mode for 15min already. How long does it normally take to update? Is it taking longer for me because I was a few versions behind?

Doesnt matter which version you are updating to, should only take a few minutes at most.

please advise me what to do next. its been going for a couple hours now

what is the difference between..."update mpc OSK" and "update mpc windows" when downloading the latest firmware from Akai account? What does OSK mean and what should I be selecting if I use a Mac
