Has anyone noticed this...

MPC 2.8.1 update is available.

Surprise no one has spoke about this as of yet. Check akai pro download page for update

Will it change the game or will you change back to the old OS.

Akai is silly. How do you release a terrible update, then not announce a point release??? And what did it fix? Strange - I would think if it fixed some of the issues 2.8 introduced, they’d publicize it.

Not touching this one. I’m on 2.7.2 until 3.0. Don’t trust these updates.

Seems like a small list of fixes:

Stability and reliability
Browser
• Content now updates correctly when switching between expansions that have the same
amount of content.
Drivers
• MPC Live, MPC X, MPC One and MPC Live Mk2 now have updated drivers to work around an
Apple bug that can occur on initial driver install.
Grid View
• MIDI events are now auditioned when selected in Grid View.
Popups
• 16 Level button warning popup is now in the MPC style.

Nice. Have you noticed a different about this update ?

I haven't installed it. I'll wait a week so that someone else can beta test it.

On the MPC ONE:

It did not give the ability for the computer, to see the attached storage while in controller mode.
Low Pass filters still adds pops
When you mute a track, you still mutes the entire track including the pads.
Sample page still gives input 3/4, when there is no input 3/4.
Can't export MIDI in standalone.


Other than that, everything seems to the same.

I just tested in standalone and the 'Assign to Slice' bug and the 'Send to MIDI' bugs are still there. I mean, seriously? These were reported and confirmed by Akai staff on Akai's (now defunct) getsatisfaction forum and the beta testing forum plus sent via the bug report system.

I don't understand how they can go to the trouble of putting out an incremental update that fixes minor issues while completely ignoring more major functionality malfunctions (especially Assign to Slice).
