Mpc live 2 > mpc live

The computer is just to most powerful tool out there. So having the standalone MPC be on par with a computer is just impossible feature and flexibility wise.

Akai should have gave us a 16 padded MacBook Production Centre with the Steve Jobs signature on the faceplate years ago.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. Its not impossible. Id say it's more logistically implausible at the moment.
20 years ago if you asked people if self-driving cars would happen, a bunch would say its just impossible.

There are always nay sayers to anything

And there are always those that change the rules to make the impossible become possible.

I was joking when I said Akai should have hooked up with Apple for releasing an MPC. But when I started to think about it it kind of makes sense. Macbook pro 13”, MPC 1000 faceplate with buttons and pads to replace the keyboard. MPC OS built around or integrated with Logic.

That would work.

I said it before and I'm going to keep saying it. The best format would be the All in one, DJ setups. How and why is this not the MPC X MKII. All they need to do is change the layout. Beef up the I/O, the processor and memory, Add 32 Pads, More Qlinks, Faders, Direct Buttons. The below images is the Denon DJ PRIME 4 and it goes from $1899.99. What is stopping them from doing this? If they create a true MONSTER, they will win so many people back.

I told my DJ buddy that the Denon DJ Prime 4 looks ridiculous in the best way possible to me. I DJ'd years ago, and would have been all over this at the time... it has a lot of the 1 to 1 mappings that really make this look next level, the reason I wouldn't get it today though is I would rarely use most of the features there... though seriously... if I ever got back into turntables this does look like a solid piece of gear.

All I know Is that the CV and speaker has made the live 2 into a sequencing beast. I’ve used this thing so much more now.

The understanding why people don't wanna be attached to the computer is to many reasons. But people wanted an ALL IN ONE MPC. Akai had 3 years before 2017 to make a serious monster. From what l see Akai is headed down the wrong path.

People want the MPC to be like the Neko. Its 2020 not 1999. It's possible to make it several things at once.

That's what l was trying to figure out. Sequencer is dope but the speaker is a joke.

So how are the dedicated buttons working for live2 users?
Which ones do you use & for what? Which ones can do things that you can't do on live1???

I have tons and tons of eurorack and hardware synths and drum machines etc. I've given up on thinking I was going to ever have everything hooked up and plugged in so I could just press record. The mpc live 2 makes it so much easier for me for example to go to a specific synth and start making music with it. im not just stuck to either using the synths sequencer or just playing without a sequencer..plugged into the headphone port with headphone wires dangling all over the place. so now I can use the mpc for either making keygroups easily like when sound designing or recording and sampling a sequence. In the past I would have to connect everything and do so much shit to sample etc. now the mpc being battery powered, not needing headphones, makes it so much easier. only thing I really need is a 1/4 plug and midi cable. this is for unplanned stuff, you know when you have some time and just start messing with shit and it turns into something good... obviously if Im planning on sitting down and creating id rather sample with the apogee, use preamps, and use the DAW. So this mpc is basically just another workflow added to the mix that helps me generate more music. a lot of times its just those ideas that would normally have just been gone since I would have had to turn on computer..connect wires, etc. it just makes it easier
