Interpolation challenge - Bob Marley’s Jammin’

Who started working on the interpolation?

I put in a bunch of time this weekend. Had to clear my plate for some work over the next two weeks.

Still more edits to make, but coming together. Won't pick it back up until the weekend. But coming together nicely. Changing the genre for mine. Not telling to what though. LOL

All the foundations are layed down, with other twist and turns to be added. Things are picking up!

Still has reggae vibe, but changing genre root. First time I’m trying to do something like this. Will see how it fares against y’all’s heat. July 31st I’ll know if this was a good idea or not. LOL.

HipHop drums under Reggae toppings I was gonna go that route but no need Doing that if done right is FYAH!

I’m still trying to learn the song, I’m getting my butt handed to me work in this heat. Might be another day or before I pick it up again. I have the bass part somewhat down, putting it together is kind of a challenge for me.

Dudes are concentrating LOL Like I said I will have to chose out of the Three I have. Man My singer and I was watching a show that I have the collection to 7 seasons, (not telling ) She hears a singer, then the music and asked "DID YOU HEAR THAT?" So I already know what she is thinking LOL hahahahaa She said get that voice, sample it, and make music to it. I got the chords, did the voice and now she did some trickery with her voice and I did some effects to it, she went bananas. Now she want me to finish it and break it down like I do and do the sickest arrangement, so I been getting down on it. Man this joint is nuts. She thought I wasn't going to be on the same page, I produce of course I will.

So I am busy and about to drop my joints, and everything is looking good.

Boy I'm dying over here... you guys'll probably laugh at me, but getting a good reggae sound is quite a bit more complicated than I thought. Just trying to get a good voice for all these parts is killing me. The interlocking and interplaying groove... I just totally took this stuff for granted.

Will definitely get something posted, but it might be Boy Scout quality from me... unlikely to warrant a merit badge lol.

Keep in mind, you can change the genre if you wish. As long as it's true to an interpolation of the song. Melody, progressions, etc.

And definitely won't laugh at you man. It sounds like a simple song, but it's deceiving. IMO his music was actually more complex than most think / believe.

Nah won't laugh at you. You don't have to voices if you dont want. Its challenging.
