MPC Live freezes at Shutting Down / needs force power-off

UPDATE:

I connected a SD card to the device, and it shuts down properly. Also tried with a SSD hard drive, works fine too. Doesn't work without not having at least one of them connected Weird, isn't it? Even weirder when I just keep the empty SD adaptor on the SD slot and it works fine! I think it needs something inside it...

There is still a problem: When I push the power switch and cancel the shutdown, the problem happens again and hardware controls and buttons freeze! There is no way back, you pushed the button, you have to shut down the device!
Can anyone verify that it's not a bug on 2.8.1 please?

Not a bug. Did you erase the pre-installed content that came with the MPC LIVE? If you did, that's the issue.

I didn't but the previous owner may have erased it. How can I verify if they are there?

Go to browse > click places > press internal > Do you see folders? If not they deleted it and you need to contact Akai Pro and they'll help you reinstall it.

Don't bother contacting Akai - they take forever to respond these days. Just check your PM here.

Sad news, didn't help! I'm gonna have the device repaired by an unofficial vendor in my city. Will update soon.

if you purchased this second hand then you should return it for a full refund. It is clearly faulty. Why are you paying money to get it fixed? Get your money back and you could buy a brand new MPC One with full warranty for the same price.

I need help. My Mpc One does not turn on. The power button is stuck, it does not reach the stop, it seems that the button is loose. When I press the button only a red light blinks and the machine does not turn on. It seems that the power button came faulty. I bought the Mpc One this month on Ebay from a store called PhotoVideo 4less. The store vendor tells me to contact Akai support to verify if the machine needs to be changed.

You don't need to verify anything with akai. File a claim with eBay and you'll get your money back

Agree with Tutor. Immediately file a claim with eBay - you were clearly sold a defective product. Has the seller refused to give you a full refund? Have you asked? You'll need to do that before submitting a claim with eBay.

Do NOT bother contacting Akai support.

Just to update, had it fixed by an unofficial vendor. They had to replace the whole mainboard.

To those who recommended to file for a refund, MPC is not available in my country and I was already lucky to find this one at that price! So, I'm happy with it now. Case closed.
