Interpolation challenge - Bob Marley’s Jammin’

Reggae is a lot more complicated than it seems. Even this simple stuff. Piano sounds, organs and electric pianos really help on melody. The bass is pretty straight forward, a couple notes and a big bass sound.

I”ll see how im feeling after a nap but I might work on this more tonight. Came up with a good plan of attack.

Real glad we have time. Between work, the heat and fasting I’m getting my butt kicked. I plan on working on this all weekend then really refining my mix the next week.

When you're not use to music theory or been around this music it is complicated. Those staccato short licks trip people up. Ive been around it all my life and can mimic those licks on the keyboard. And due to chord knowledge it becomes easy. Have those sounds and its a go. That's why l have a house load of sounds from orchestral to Hip Hop.

I spent about an hour with effects chains, and trying out some new sounds, and much much much happier. I'm probably going to do this pretty straight, and am basically going to keep it very similar to the original... though I'm scrubbing around to see what parts I'd like to keep, and then figuring out where 'inspired by' takes me. Definitely learning a lot so far...

Two weeks out...

Two weeks out and I'm here goofing around with remodeling my studio

Can’t wait to get cracking on this. Have a decent concept in my mind not sure how it will play out. Just have a couple hours worth of paperwork then I have the next few days off. Hoping to get my track down and spend the next week tweeting it.

I got the parts down, now it's just putting my ideas together. so simple, yet so hard to make a reality. really hoping to do my concept justice. tomorrow will be getting my drums down and making the other aspects fit. this is really cool just playing with the song all night.
