You know, sometimes i'm burried or blocked in my own head, making things a bit difficult for myself and life.

Then people like this come along with some crazy comments and i think;'' don't worry lil' bees, you're all good''. I just want to quote it again because it's so good.

I primarily work in a Plogue Bidule. I purchased the MPC Touch and software at the beginning of 2018 because (at the time) it was the only DAW I could find that I could run as a plugin within Bidule. The Touch was the cheapest way to get the software at the time (they didn't sell it separately) and I liked having a control surface, though I don't use the pads. However, I soon discovered that the MPC software lacked some things I needed: More than 16 MIDI channels out (a plugin limitation), and a variable tempo control track. I got around the MIDI channel problem by using Apple IACs in Bidule plugins within MPC channels 17 to 32. In Bidule, I built a variable tempo generator controlled by a MIDI cc on an MPC track with the MPC slaved to the Tempo generator. So, as you can see, I HAVE done a lot about it.

The things I expect the Akai hardware and software to do aren't esoteric. Tempo tracks are very common, as well as a bunch of other basic things I won't go into. If it's not on you, then it's on Akai. And if it's on Akai, then don't get your hopes up that Akai will come to the rescue. So just sell it and move on. Follow the Mari Kondo philosophy: does it spark joy? Or does it annoy?

There are plenty of happy users who probably have another workflow then you and won't face the same problems as you have. MPC head/ Marlow Diggs built a whole Youtube channel with his MPC Touch for instance. SkiBeatz is killing it on his LiveII he received last week. Kev Brown is able to produce complete albums with the Live, despite running into problems as well. His solution is to keep things working in a to him acceptable manner is not to upgrade from 2.7. My Instagram is music only and see a lot of guys doing crazy things with their Live's and One's. So there are probably enough people out there who would be happy buying the MPC Touch from you. I am on Dutch Ebay quite a lot to expand my MPC500/ 1000/ 2500 collection for spare products, and the Touch is still a wanted machine.

Never expect, only purchase it for what it can do for you right now.

If it's not working for what you need, render your stems and move on. If you don't have a formal release date or plan to publish the music, then it's just practice. So move on. :smoker:

There is too much for me to say concerning all of these comments, but as you all seem to have a very "it's all good" attitude towards these issues, I won't bother. However, none of you seems to understand the value of negative feedback . . . especially public negative feedback. I used to send Akai bug reports and private feedback; nothing ever came of any of it. But, I'm sure Akai reads this forum. Let the pile on begin!

It’s not a ‘it’s all good attitude’ per se. We kind of have accepted the situation as it is. I understand your frustration and irritation towards Akai. I have had my frustrations too, but I’d rather spent my energy on making music instead of being an angry customer.

I think the problem is that there are not too many places for people to go... so this is a natural avenue for griping since there is at least an active community. An active community of crusty old goblins peering into their tiny sequencer windows looking for answer.

If the international online beatmaking community would be the Lord Of The Rings Universe, then this place is the caves of Moria.

The question you have to ask yourself, "Are these glitches stopping me from making music?" If they're stopping you then move on and find something that will work. As far as feedback, I'm sure Akai Pro receives lots of it.

They sometimes slow me down and get in the way. But it's all good, right? No need to say anything, I'm sure someone else is taking care of it. :WTF:

What is exactly slowing you down?

If anything, AT LEAST this community provides good work-arounds to problems, diffetent view points and an overall support to each other.
I think anyone 'complaining' just wants their voice to be heard & problems created by akai to be corrected.
Akai is on some hop-scotch one step forward, one & a half steps back type plan.

In that situation, the best thing to do is not update or revert back to an older version. The shut down has thrown off everyone timeline.

Preaching to the choir. I do that with all software, including operating systems. Due to my caution, I got through the Touch/DisplayLink/High Sierra cluster F without a scratch. But as an example of what I'm talking about, I recently decided to move to Mojave and MPC 2.8 to hopefully get past some very annoying bugs. In short, it was a disaster. Flaky and buggy as hell. So, I went back to what had worked for me before; El Capitan and MPC 2.2.1. The only problem was I still had the crazy bar numbering problem. Do you know about this one? If you make music with a lot of odd and changing time signatures, it wacks out the bar count. Thankfully, I found that MPC 2.4 fixed that. So far so good . . . but it's pretty damn pathetic.

CharlesRandolph wrote:The shut down has thrown off everyone timeline.

Really? Let's see, the equipment is portable, and you can write code at home, in bed, in your PJs, with your bunny slippers on. Sorry man, the pandemic is no excuse for not fixing bugs.

Perhaps a seperate forum for bugs and complaints for the MPC 2.0 software and products.

And normal people who want to talk about pussy and shit (like me), can just do it on the main forum.
