2000 Classic Song Mode convert

Peace,

12 years later i pick a 2000 classic again. Since i sold my last one, i get a 2500, a 1000, a 500 and and Ren. There is one thing is bugging me: If i remember well and my mind is not playing tricks on me, as in the other mpc's, when i arrange my sequences in song mode (for example 4 different sequences with some tracks muted in one of them, like and intro, chorus, etc) when i convert that song to one sequence, the new sequence will have the different mutes in the parts of the song that correspond with the sequences that is based. But that is not happening: When i convert, all the song remains the same as the first sequence.

I remember to do that in 2000, and then, when the song is converted to one sequence maintaining the changes (chorus, etc) i just erase certain kicks or snares here and there in the big sequence...

So, if when i convert the song to one sequence it dont maintain the changes between sequences, whats the purpose of converting a song to one b8g sequence?

Thanks Lampdog, is what im seeing by now...so, in other words, convert a song based on lets say, 4 different sequences, has no real effect, cause at the end, you will come with long version of the first sequence of the song, without any changes...basically it will do the same that the copy bars function in another mp's, cause i dont see another purpose to convert then. So i will track from the "song screen" but i didnt remember that it works that way, i swear in the past i converted songs and the changes between sequences maintained! Sure, i must be mixing things with the 2500 workaround!

Yeah is that "tracks off" feature, that enable you to convert and the new sequence will maintain the track off from the individual sequences. I tought this can be done in the 2000 classic, but i suppose im confused with the 2500 and Ren . Anyway, "convert" has no sense if you cant maintain the tracks off! You end up with a longer version of the first sequence on the song when you convert... i will explode the tracks directly from the Song mode screen.

Thanks again Lamp, i go the "song chapter" on the manual and didnt see the feature, but i was convinced i did that back when i have my first 2000!

depending on the complexity of the arrangement is you might be faster saving the song as .mid (MIDIfile) to a floppydisk, open that .mid file in a DAW, edit the notes there and trasfer it back to the 2000.

Since the 2000 can only save 1 sequence as mid you might want to use the 'convert song to sequence' function to not have to save each sequence and mess with n mid files.
