This is my first time posting in any forum. Lol but here goes. Not quite sure where to or how to send requests to Akai, but it would be great to have a spectrum analyzer in MPC stand-alone. Just got my X and the one within the past 2 months (my first journey into the MPC world and loving it) the only thing I am missing is a spectrum analyzer. I know they probably couldn't put one with crazy graphics in there, but just a simple no frills analyzer would be great. Anyway, do you think if enough of us want/request this they may do it? I wouldn't even need it as a vst. Just one simple one that shows the master output signal frequencies. I'm big on using my ears but I think we can all agree that having a visual aid comes in handy sometimes when our rooms and ears are playing tricks on us. I could just use my computer but I really don't like doing that anymore than I have to.

Anyway, sorry for the bad grammar and rambling. Like I said, first time posting in a forum and not quite sure how these things work or if I even posted this in the proper place.

Any advice or suggestions for a MPC Newbie would be great.

Thanks!

I totally agree that this would be a fantastic feature. The entire (current) MPC line all have a large display that can handle animations just fine. The problem is that it doesn't seem like Akai feel that it's a popular enough request to make it happen. For reference, we've been waiting years for more standalone plugins, and they've teased as much (such as a new Drum Synth as well as the Hype Synth from the Force line) for longer than most can remember, but still they haven't delivered. Most of us waited years for them to properly implement MIDI for external gear, and that only arrived in 2.8 barely two months ago - literally almost 5 years since this new generation of MPC's appeared in the form of the Touch.

For feature requests, it's best to hit up Akai direct (either from their Get Satisfaction forum, or through their social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, etc). This is an enthusiast forum and NO ONE from Akai comes here these days.

 Yeah, Spectrum Analyzer is not happening. Imagine switching screens every-time you want to see it. Now you can make beats, mix, and master your music in the park using the MPC LIVE 2 speaker and the Spectrum Analyzer. But you have to do it at night, because in the day light you can't see the screen.

That's a great idea! Thanks for the response. I may just get a hardware unit.

 +100. It could've been like the apple touch bar. :smoker:

Maybe they should just fix the mixer page and all these 2.8.1 bugs.

Yeah I noticed since updating when I browse samples a lot of times the selector bounces back up to the top. Very annoying when trying to pick sounds.

Is it when you use the knob or scrolling on the touchscreen? Touchscreen has been, well, "touchy" for a while with the 2/3 finger scroll.
