I'd suggest giving your whole unit a bloody good clean first though. Although my screen was clean as the factory protector had never been removed, I have a couple of annoying tiny pockets where a particle of dust must have strayed from the body of the machine (which is fairly filthy, it must be said) during the process.

Someone recommended the lint rollers you use on clothes. I might give that a go and try again. (can these protectors be reapplied, or would I need to start again with the second one?)

Hello. I think it will be very hard to remove it and stick it again. First of all, lint is sticked to it already. I'll suggest to use a new one if small lint's annoys you. It's good to apply it under some lamp. So you can see if screen is clean before applying protector.

They're screen protectors alright! Fit perfect, completely 'invisible'. Played with the MPC for about 10 hours last night, no weird issues trying to tap on anything, etc. After 8 months, last night was the first time I took the factory plastic off my screen but this has me not worrying about anything now.

Great idea I should cut them from existing plastic ones on the market. And sell them as Nano Glass screen protectors. Other thing is how to cut Nano Glass with a knife?

Good idea! I think I can live with it. Whenever I change it I'll use a lamp as you suggest to get it really clean first. Thanks again.

And remember when you sticking up new screen always work slowly from one side. It will minimize boubles.

Is screen protector really necessary?
Are the MPC One/Live/X screens made from some cheap plastic or something?
I'd assume for regular use it shouldn't be required, unless 'regular use' for someone means they're chopping their beats with a door key or knife?

That's why I'm asking - no, I've not had one for my last 3 phones (5 years?) and they don't have any scratches, I never shattered the screens, etc. And it's not that I'm super cautious with them, either. They've fallen to the hard ground several times, it happens that I have my keys in the same pocket the phone is, I don't carry a screen wipe with me, etc.

That's why I think if the MPC screen tech is relatively modern, then for regular use and reasonable care it should be fine without a screen protector.

if you don't have hammers for fingers or extreme anger issues, you'll be fine without a screen protector.

The screen is made of decent plastic, but it is definitely more likely to scratch than glass. I screen protector at least means that *if* it does get scratched that you can at least put a new one on and have a good screen.

If you're reasonably careful, then the protector shouldn't be necessary, but if you don't want to risk getting a scratch because you accidnetly dropped something on it, then it might be worth it. I've got a kid, I trust her, but not with my expensive gear.

Sure, I get that. So it's not one of the gorilla glass ones that have been used in phones and tablets for well more than a decade.

It's true but some people make beats on a go this days. Music gear is traveling in bagpack. I think if you don't have your screen secured. On some stage it may scratch. I was same. I took down plastic factory protector from my MPC Live. And asked my self what if I'll scratch it. That's there reason I'd figure out it might be handy to have some proper screen protector. Same thing if you willing sell your gear in a future. Most buyers looking for things in pristine condition.

That was my concern also. I go between a few studios, sometime throw it in a backpack & ride, sometimes kids play with it (supervised)... You never know whats gonna happen. And Id assume a screen with a crack in it would decrease your resale price by at least $100.

That being said, I havent seen, let alone heard about any cracked screens, which is a very good sign.
Anyone else?!
