Yes, there is an 8-plugin limit in standalone. It's per project, BTW (you can only load one project at a time). Each sequence can have up to 128 tracks, but only 8 of them can be plugins. For example, if you assign (say for instance) TubeSynth on track 1 in Sequencer 1, then it will remain on track 1 through any/all of your sequences. You'll need to create another track (for instance, track 2) and load a different plugin (or another instance of TubeSynth) if you want to have a different plugin or have a different preset loaded or tweak it unrelated to track 1.

And yes, you can bounce these to samples and load them in a Program to trigger, or create Clips out of them, and then use those tracks for something else. If you want to be able to go back and edit them, though, you'll need to save the sequence separately to re-load.

Thanks! Going by the manual I thought it would work differently, similar to Elektrons where each 4-track pattern can have completely different instruments per track (not to mention the P-Locks). Or to trackers on Amiga I started with in the 90s. But it's not a real issue, just an organisational challenge and a matter of getting used to, I guess :D

And yes, I was leaning toward Force for a long time, but seeing how last update was almost a year ago, things showcased at NAMM2020 are still nowhere to be seen, Nick was fired and - last but not least - it's a huge & chunky piece of gear; I decided against it. Also I thought change of workflow would do me good, whereas Force is very similar in principle to Ableton / Bitwig, so I'd feel to familiar and comfortable. I only hope MPC 3.0 is close and brings new synths, especially something FM and/or additive.

BTW, this forum's underlying tech is pretty limited, isn't it? There's no notification of any kind that someone replied to my post, no notification for PMs, etc. Basic stuff, one would think :WTF:

LOL! Yeah, it's super basic - almost maddeningly so.

The reason you chose the MPC One over Force is one of the reasons I picked up an MPC as well. Just needed to try a new/different workflow and approach, and having a standalone machine is so nice to get away from the computer. Also hoping for 3.0 soon as well, but realistically we're likely looking at mid/late 2021 at the earliest, IMHO. Would love to be wrong, though.

at the top of the page there is a star to bookmark the thread... maybe that will help.

also, i am still wondering if they will put a tune/pitch for these plug-ins so you can match them out of key to samples. as it stands, it is like they forgot the mpc doesn't have a VST wrapper like daws do (when they ported them over to standalone mode)

Ah, so you are going to be a sarcastic little twat, good luck with that too!

I'm sorry, it was uncalled for. I didn't gave all the information (in this post) and it might've looked like I'm asking for things I can try and find out for myself.

I appreciate that.

I could have easily checked and try the limition you asked for, but since i am a cuntbucket i will not, because... This is the biggest lesson (in my pov) for ''figuring'' out the MPC; try things yourself. I promise, if you do this you will be an MPC Jedi Master within a few weeks!

Thanks for the advice, i will look into it in 1990-never.

Here's some advice back; don't record your vocals in the MPC
