MPC X Crashes when copying notes

When using the MPC X in standalone, if I copy notes, oftentimes the MPC will crash. Sometimes it will launch the copied notes out to bar 50,000, other times it will freeze up everything except the play and stop buttons, and other times it'll freeze up everything.

This happens probably 25% of the time when copying notes. I am not sure what triggers it, but it is enough that I wouldn't recommend the MPC X to anyone looking to use it in standalone.

Not that familiar with my MPC X yet but how many times are you copying/pasting the notes? If it’s as big as you are saying (bar 50,000 or so), I can see why it’s crashing. It’s buffer is being overloaded. Just my speculation.

I think he meant bar 50, the MPC bar count max out at 999.

That like an Hour or More Live Set! You may need a Laptop/Software Setup for that Feat.

First question: have you ever deleted any content off of your built-in storage? Second question: have you considered restoring your Factory Content to see if that fixes the buggyness? I'm not talking about doing a reset (which you should have tried already) or updating your firmware (which version are you on)? I'm talking about the Factory Content image that you can get from Akai - often that fixes buggy behavior.

If you had filtered the posts you would see that somebody was actually trying to help you. No need to get all sad clown

I had this happening in 2.2.1 firmware using Live in standalone mode. Copying selected notes pressing copy button in grid view sometimes copied the notes to bar that was in the tens of thousands, and every time I pressed copy it doubled that ridiculous amount of bars and "quite surprisingly" made the Live behave extremely sluggish. Haven't seen this in a very long time.


Edit: funny coincidence, I received email from tech support about this bug in Aug 2nd 2018 after reporting it in the Get satisfaction forums. The infamous late July copy bug...

I've been working on a 108 bar sequence in standalone... and *oof* every time you hit a pad in grid mode it has to select in the lane... and it gets kind of chuggy.

Follow the post what Enoch and lampdog said. Those are the basics to see if it stops your problem.

If if doesn’t stop after checking those it may be an actually bug in the software to report.

It seems those numbers are in samples not bars. (Take Picture of the entire screen.)
The bar count is above. 8 Bars is the total. The timeline is Bar 6 - Beat 1 - Tick 188

But these MPC only go to 999 bars. Click the Bar and try to enter 1000, it won't let you. It will only let you enter 999 bars.
