Im Old School....Need a note to be longer/velocity harder....increase everything with the Number Pad in List Edit
I use grid mode or list edit for small corrections. I play everything in, because it's the best way to maintain that human feel.

Anyone who says it's not music, probably should reevaluate their life. You could definitely play live over your music. No different than Avant-garde jazz except, you're using step sequencers, drum machines, samplers, synths, and effects.

I know MPCs aren't really for that type of workflow, but there's just few things they can do to make it more viable & that would benefit everybody:
- allow for painting longer notes by holding e.g. Shift while dragging the finger;
- dispense with the scroll/magnifier tool, it's redundant - use 2-finger gestures instead;
- add a simple shortcut (e.g. hold Grid button + turn the dial left/right) to change grid's resolution, or at least move that 'field' to the top bar - it doesn't take focus and it's barely different from pad names right now;
- add multi-track editing (MIDI data from 2+ tracks at once);
Tellng people to practice and "play better" is ridiculous. Reminds me of traditional rock musicians slamming synths and sequencer artists back in the 70's and 80's. FnochLight wrote:
That said, it's been requested countless times to dispense with the scroll/magnifier tool since the MPC Touch came out over 4 years ago. The current theory is that Akai would have to license the gesture but won't pay for it, as Apple and Google claim a lot of patents when it comes to touch interface gestures. Otherwise, there's literally no other reason not to just do it the right way, as you mention.
And about the "human feel" - totally agree. Not everyone worships at the Church of J Dilla. ™Tellng people to practice and "play better" is ridiculous. Reminds me of traditional rock musicians slamming synths and sequencer artists back in the 70's and 80's.

This is what happens when you become OLD and BITTER. Remember this post and use it as energy to push so you do not become this person. This is the kind of BOOMER that, yells at their children because they don't want to play the guitar.
No Little "KAREN", you're going to play the guitar and do music so I can live through you. Since I was too much of coward, to make my dreams happen. P.S. I LOVE LIVING RENT FREE.![]()
Don't you have a beats competition to attend, Charlie? No one give a **** about how you live, BTW.antic604 wrote:Like this, for example, although I can see how some might not see it as "music" around these parts
