I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on Softube's Console 1 MKII and Console 1 Fader and wanted to know if anyone had success using them with the MPC X in standalone mode as MIDI controllers? I'm also curious if similar success has been achieved in controller mode with MPC Software.

Please post how you like it

Will do.

What piqued my interest in them was learning that the AD/DA converters in the MPC X are the exact same as the ones in the Apollo interfaces.

I know that seems strange but it inspired a few ideas which led me to the Softube Console 1 ecosystem...

Have you got a source for that? Is it only the X or the other MPCs as well?

Masada can confirm this: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mpcgang ... 20&__cft__

From what I understand it's only the X that has these converters, but I could be wrong. You can ask Masada, he knows...

If this is the case, their will be lots of people claiming how they love the converters in the MPC X. But for the most part, the Apollo interfaces are all pretty neutral.

Have the SC 1 and I only use it for the plug ins. Works great with UAD effects.

I personally love how the MPC X sounds.

From what I was told you have to insert the Console 1 plugin on each insert channel because it's not a Macki/HUI protocol device, so I will have to use MIDI learn for the MPC X, is this correct?

Yes, you have to insert C1 Plugin on each channel you want to use it on. It's easy to setup and my main usage is for plug in control. I became tired of having to MIDI learn plug ins. As for the MPC SOFTWARE I don't have it install on my MAIN rig. It's strictly regulated to to a laptop and used as a utility program. So I've never used it with the MPC.

Would be interesting to see if you could, MIDI learn the console one fader to the MPC in standalone. I don't own it, let me know if it works when you get it in.

So can I save my own presets of 3rd party plugins in Console's software? Is it like a wrapper?

You can MIDI learn 3rd party plug ins, but I don't do that. I only use the C1 plug ins or the Sequoia 15 plug ins. The only plugs I purchase are 100% mapped to console one.

Okay, got it, It seems like I will be met with some challenges for my MPC X, but It's really good to know that I can also use the Console 1 ecosystem with Studio One from what I can see.

I don't know how true this is but there seems to be a rumor of a Softube Universal Audio Console device for LUNA coming in the future. Have you seen this?

I have not seen that. If it's true, it seems like a good move for Softube.

I’ve recently been trying my console 1 in mpc x. It has its limitation though unlike fully compatible DAWs the track names do not show up within console 1 also the order of track numbering is all messed up it apples the track number in the order that you add the console 1 plugin (and does not correspond with the actual track numbering within mpc x)
It’s usable... I havnt even tried fader I don’t think fader will work very well because of the track ordering mentioned above.
