On topic then:

I expect the same over and over again each update like ground hog day:

A big feature will be presented which is pressured by the marketing departement with good looking video's. You will be excited and you want to try out the new features asap, and then you will discover they also introduced new bugs which are pretty bad (like the track mutes and chopping bugs in 2.. You also will figure out they didn't fix the earlier reported bugs (only some nobody knew about), nor did they fix the obvious things that are there since the release (sequence ordering, fx ordering etc) and you ask yourself if they ever use the machines themselves.

Then you will wait again for the next update, hoping they will release 3.0 and all will be fine....

Support for the MPK Mk3 would be nice. Only works correctly with MPC Beats right now.

I'm a little shocked that Akai didn't bake in complete support for the MPK mini MK3 into a firmware update for the Live/X/One in standalone - seems like a missed opportunity. And while the pads may seem redundant, they could have had the 8 knobs on the MPK MK3 automatically take over as a set of 8 functional Q-links, expanding the Live and One.

I agree that the pads are redundant if you’re using the MPK at the same time as the MPC. But if you wanted to use it on the go with a laptop, it’s nice to have them mapped correctly. Works great with FL Studio, Logic, and MPC Beats. Just not with MPC 2.8.1 standalone or software.

I think this topic should change into: Will there ever be an update again or did Jack O Donnel just emigrated to the bahama's and is lurking on some juicy 30$ cocktail right now.

To be fair, I think it's fairly evident that there will be another update for the MPC's. The thing people often forget is the exact same dev team that works on the MPC line is the exact same team that works on the Akai Force as well, and the Force is currently in the middle of a pretty hefty beta test right now (with multiple updates being shared in the Force thread over at Gear Slutz). Until the Force firmware update appears - which is likely to happen between today and 4 months from now - we won't see any movement on the MPC line.

That said, and this is totally unrelated, but I do hope there's some new hardware early next year (whether it's a new X or a new Force).

I think since the release of the One , Live mk2 , im going to wait to next year to see if a X mk2 shows

should have an update this month or October like in the past...
