Synth-Pop Challenge!

Genre: Synth pop (late 70/80's vibe)

Deadline: September 4th
1 vote per person
4 days to vote, get it done!
No changing votes, it’s permanent, choose wisely!

Rules:
- No sampling except for drums
- Must really fit that genre, so choose the rights sounds!
- Vocals are nice but not needed (instrumental is fine - or just autotune)

Yo yo yo! Bees80 Dope! Man l'll be finished by tomorrow nite. I love Pop joints, l thought you were going to go like Britney Spears , Katty Perry type joints.

That human league piece l use to listen to that all the time.

What made you chose this and that era?

Bees80 you were right about me using the Roland joints on my tracks. Plus one track of Loom sound.

Looks like l'll be headed back to the Roland joints for this one.

Ha i wouldn't say britney and katty are synth pop, it's just pop, sprinkled with some dance and edm or what's hip these days.

i like the raw, unexplored, free vibe in this type of music and the era; synthesizers were just getting popular in pop music. No limiters or crazy computer effects, just raw synths, drumcomputers and good musicians :nod:

Man, the music of my childhood :) Loved all of this untill I found that lifechanging tape with Kool Moe Dee, 2Live Crew, DJ Jazzy Jeff. :D

Yeah me too, LOL Nah I thought you would go that Britney Pop way. But this is cool. Yeah I should have mines done tomorrow nite for sure. I have every type of drum you can think of, from Takio, to Urban drums, so I'll be ok with this one. And again a brother is hitting up that Roland software modules quick lol

BTW Kate Bush is a hell of a woman. I would marry her in an instant, hoping that she let me touch her.....CMI Fairlight ;) I always loved her songs and her look her dancing and she seem to be not from this world.


Hahahaha, just watched the TransX vid. Funny how he failed to close the tape mechanism.

LOL man I was forced to listen to Johnny Cash, etc, until Kool Herc brought out the turn tables, and Theodore did his first scratch a mistake, and Master Don of 147st Harlem same block I lived in with the Beat Box machine, yo I was hooked, Listening to the Hank Love show etc on the radio, it was a rap LOL But I like this music too, The Eurithmics<------ Am I spelling that right? Was the Shizzle! Phil Collins, Herbie Handcock etc! Then there was Flash LOL man Lamp would shut this dam place down if I gave you my childhood memories, I could hear Lamp now, "MAN TAKE YOUR ASS ON AND WRITE A BOOK WILL YA" LOL :lol: :lol: :lol:

For me Janet Jackson, some of her early music was like synth Pop. Now give me some Adele, Celine Dion, or Kelly Rowan!

Yep, she is awesome. so many great tunes. As a kid, i once made a beat tape with only samples from the kick inside. That was a fun self-challenge :)

Indeed Janet's first album(s) were more like pop descending from funk and disco. With jimmy jam & terry lewis on the boards.. ohhh geeeeeeeeee :nod:

Nah haven't heard J Dill's sample.

Im just trying to go through my Roland stuff to stay in the genre. Already got the drums. I have two rhythms in my head. Im off today and looking at a 32 inch computer screen monitor. The toss up is Viotex, HP and Samsung. I have to make a decision. Ima try and finish this track by tonight. Im going all Roland again and then one sound from my Triton VSTi. I might have to use that Roland D-50 this time. Lol :lol: :shock: And bust open my Triton VSTi on ya too :lol:

And on top of that l have to make a video on how to duck ypur bass without having to use compression and the Bass rider from Waves.

I wonder in those songs you posted did those producers use Roland.

I think most songs use a roland drumcomputer, perhaps a linndrum or boss here and there.

Regarding synths there is just too much options. No worries though, i got the triton vsti too. But my sectret weapon will probably come from the jv1080. Spoiler alert.
