So I just bought the scsi2sd 5.5 the external one. After looking everything up and doing correctly I got the micro sd card and scsi2sd to work and my mpc 60 read and saved to it fine. This was when the 5.5 wasnt screwed in so while i was testing it i just held it in the back myself. I went and bought the right size screw to screw it into the back of the mpc. I had it screwed but the screws werent long enough I guess and it was a little loose so when i turned the mpc on to test it I had to still press the 5.5 in a little on the back to get the mpc to read it. I unscrewed everything again (because you have to unscrew the casing to even be able to screw the circuit board into the scsi port on your mpc) and tried some new longer screws. Now it is nice and secure no wobbling or being loose but my mpc isnt reading it now. The mpc cant find scsi even though I didn't do a thing to the sdcard or 5.5. I tried reformating the 5.5 and resaving the settings onto it but it did not make a difference. Can anybody help me out I really want to be able to use this (especially since it cost me $70) but I am having no luck. Did I somehow mess something up in the process of screwing it into the mpc? Also worth noting I guess that when I use it in the mpc I have to power it with the usb cable into a plug, is the Mpc 60 supposed to have power on the Scsi?

Thanks

I haven’t been on the forum for a while but yes the mpc 60 doesn’t power it. I just went out and bought a nice, like 10ft, micro usb cable and just keep it plugged into it at all times.

This could be caused by a blown scsi fuse. Atleast this is the case for the mpc 3000. This one works as a replacement for the 3k https://www.ebay.com/itm/RUEF110S-RESETTABLE-FUSE-PTC-30V-1-1A-RADIAL-/313253747317?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 RUEF110. So if you're able to locate the scsi fuse, most likely by the scsi port than this might work for you.

Actually disregard the last post. I see you're trying to use it externally and that the mpc 60 scsi adapter dosent send power. Unless the SCSI can be jumped to a 5v power source you're out of luck and will have to use a micro usb for power. The good news is that its easily accessible and most phone chargers will do the job.
