Hi,

about purchasing expansion packs:
If mentioned "instruments", does that mean that a VST is included or only sampled based wave files?
I'm lookin for VST that has the DX7 sound, what would you recommend?
What are your favorite packs?
Many thanks,
B

DX7 or FM Piano I could hear on the new Trap Soul Expansion.
Really liked their kits too.
But I haven't even heard anything on the Live yet other than Shadow Kit from the 2.8 Bible, so I'll wait and see.

But as keyboardist familiar with synths and samples I can verify I heard those bellish sounding tones that weren't from Tines like a Rhodes or Wurlitzer.

Expansions are specifically sample-based packs for the MPC line. All "instruments" are accessible under the Key Groups when in your browser. The MPC's do not support VST in standalone, and when running in Controller Mode, all VST run in the desktop MPC Software or your DAW. Expansions can be accessed via the desktop MPC Software or your MPC in standalone.

As for the best VST for the DX7 sound, there's a few. My favorites are Reason Studios' PX7 Rack Extension, as well as Primal Audio's FM4 (using the Reason Rack Plugin VST). YMMV...
