Can I use any loops and one shots from loopmasters on MPC 2?

Hi everyone,

I am thinking about picking up the MPC Live 2 to make house music and ive been looking online for different sounds, synth packs and loops to picture if this is something I can pull off. I came across loopmasters.com and I like the variety they have for house music. I am wondering if you can use them on the live 2 standalone at all?

My experience with loops (clips) hasn't been great in all honesty, so I am watching this thread to see if there's a definitive answer.

The toraiz sp-16 and the octatrack both do as you want, without any setting up (perhaps setting th time stretch on the toraiz, but that's about it).

As long as they're WAV, MP3, AIFF, REX and SND and the loops start/end points are correct, you shouldn't have any issues. I was playing around with Clips and they work just fine. What issues are you having?

Yes, you can - loops not only from Loopmasters, but anywhere really. There are several ways to go about it, but I've found triggering the loops via a Drum Program works great with a combination of using the same loops as Clips. Virtually all of the loops on Loopmasters has the tempo listed in the file, so you'll automatically know what you need to in order to process them fast and easy on the latest MPC's. You can safely warp tempo of your loops in real-time using the "Pro Ten" algorithm and get +/- 10 to 15 BPM without horribly degrading the audio quality too bad, and if you want pristine sound you can always high-quality time-stretch the samples to your project's desired tempo (though this cannot be done in real time).
