Hey!

I like to add a little modulation on my percussions and hihats.
For example: I like to randomize velocity and decay for a small amount to make 16th highhats not that static. Normally I can use s&h lfo for that. But it seems that the Akai Force LFO on Samples is retriggered with every note. You cannot hear the lfo effecting anything until you turn up the speed to a value where it changes faster then the sample plays.
I don’t really understand why someone would need that on a drum track, because most of the samples used in a drum set are too short to make use of such a LFO, but I have not found a way to switch the mode of those lfos. Is it possible to use detach the lfo from note triggers?
On synth tracks it works that way already.

Currently I am using 4 hihat sounds and randomly changing between them, but that’s just 4. I could modulate it with automation, but s&h would be faster and more random.

Thanks.

This is the biggest let down of the X/Live and force.Absence of free running LFO,s.On the sampler engine.Seems like there working on it tho.I think you can probably draw in some variation.....But yeah thats a feature i really like in the MPC4000.Otherwise it just sounds very static.

I would love a free running lfo on the sampler engine.
Why do you think they're working on it?
