3000 and mophatt/proteus sysex

Sup,
Anyone had any luck sending sysex prog change from mophatt unit or other emu unit to the 3000. I just wanna make it so that when I start a seq. the right program,vol,pan etc. come up automatically. I had it woking on the 1000 but now I can't seem to get it right on the 3000. Search didn't really answer my question. Thanks in advance

Yo, I have been trying to get this right for the longest, setting up a blank midi track and drying to dump the sysex for my synth settings, but I never got it to work.

It seems like this would be really straight forward since this is probably what most people want to do with their modules isn't it? One of you midi experts got the answer?

I think I remeber that, but if you dont have a 3K i dont think you can halp, cause its a 3K problem, like with your help before, I got my modules to send the performance data to a blank midi track on the MPC - something happened, cause the track was not blank anymore, but when i would turn on the mp again, nothing would load. thanks though.

Well I got it to work. I think what I did differently was to send several sysex packets one aftter the other. The MPC 3000 cannot receive packets greater than 1k at a time so I sent the prog changes, vol, tuning, etc. all in separate packets. Seemed to work for me. Good luck with yours as well

thats good man, think you can break down the step by step for me on at least one sysex function - i have a proteus rack to so i will understand watch your saying.

i actually just got this too work today after bout a year of beatin my head against the wall. i sent the sysex from my ms2000 to the 2kxl. But the 2kxl i think can read bigger packets. all i did was make a new track in a new seqs, set it to the same midi channel and set the bpms to 60. then i went into midi sync and had the ms2000 controlling the mpc then went to midi filter and enable the EXCLUSIVE data and then hit play and record. Then it was waitni for the sync i hit edit on the ms2000 then did the dump. then i played it back on the mpc to see if it worked and shazam.

I'm using the mophatt unit so I don't know if it will be the same for you. Basically its under the master menu. You scroll to sysex send and then choose the value you want to send. Then you just set up a blank seq. on the MPC ,press record and then send the sysex from the unit. Then you overdub the other values on the same seq. It should work! Let me know what youre using tho

Sorry for sounding ignorant ,but is this everytime you make a new sequence, or do you just have to do it once and save it as an .all file so it loads each time you turn on your MPC?

yup just make 1 seq, i do it on seq 10 and save it as an .all then when u load up ur song just quick play that seq then go back to the real seqs.

Yo its a Proteus1000, same as Mo Phatt.

Did you get it to work? Under Midi mode you should be in Multi I think and choose change accepted. Make sure all your receive program change are on for each channel. My packet delay was set to 300 milliseconds so i shouldnt be any less than that. Then under send midi sysex data scroll down and choose multimode map. That should do it. I think I was wrong before about the packets being too big. Multimode map seems to work all at once now. Good luck
