Does anyone know the keys/power combination to factory reset the ONE? I don’t have access to the screen.

More details:

I got an MPC ONE today, and after about 30-40 mins the touch become unresponsive, I had to pull the power and since then it no longer boots up. The pads flash and turn red for about 10 secs and then off with no screen or lit buttons… Very frustrating.

I saw a post from AKAI Dan With a key combination to factory reset the MPC LIVE in a similar situation (FULL LEVEL/BANK C/SHIFT + Power On). I tried it even though It required 3 hands and it didn’t work.

Presumably there is a more sensible combination on the ONE. Why something this important is NOT in the manual is beyond me…

It’s actually put me off the One, I’m thinking 2nd hand Live Mk1 instead, at least I know the Key combination if it happens on that. But I Much prefer the form factor of the ONE.

Yeah, I’ve read about the button on the Live but haven’t found any info on the ONE having one. I definitely don’t want to open it up. It’s new but ex display and will return it in the next few days, unless by a long shot someone knows the combination. So frustrating this info isn’t readily available. I loved it for 30-40 minutes anyway.

Simple things like this should be open, I didn't know about the MPC LIVE combination. Thanks for that tidbit.

Anyone interested in the key combination for the live, it was Akai Dan that said it here:

He said: [BANK C] + [FULL LEVEL] + [ERASE] and POWER ON but it did not work. :(

There's actually Two Reset Buttons on One of the Circuit Boards inside the The Live

I was actually able to get into some kinda Diagnostic Pad App inside the Live....

While Powering the Live, I held 'Pad Bank A...PLAY....PLAY/START'

But it doesnt do much but perform diagnostic tests

That works for the MPC ONE as well.

Maybe if the OP does the 'Pad Bank A...PLAY....PLAY/START' and can get to that screen, they could then power it off, let is shut down. Then power it on again, by just pressing the power button. Maybe it will work? :hmmm:

Thanks for sharing that great bit of information. :worthy: Maybe they can pin it.

So there's

Press and hold: PAD BANK A + PLAY + PLAY/START and POWER ON (Works for ONE, LIVE and possible X)
Press and hold: [BANK C] + [FULL LEVEL] + [ERASE] and POWER ON (Works for LIVE)

I’ve just tried it, and it brought up a colourful screen that said MPC, I got excited, but then nothing happened it just Got stuck there. I pulled the PSU cable, tried again and now even that doesn’t work anymore, the screen backlight comes on but that’s all...

I’ve started the return procedure on eBay, the seller has gone silent on me.
