How can i delete the Factory Content? (MPC Live)

Hey Folks,

im an electronic Music Producer, but im not into all of this EDM bullshit (seriously, this is the worst music genre that has evolved in the last years!). I had a lot of tryouts with the Factory Content in general but i have to admit: ALL of it is completely overproduced and therefore absolutely NOT usable for real and proper Music Production!!!

Is there a way to delete all of this stuff from my MPC Live so that i can fill it with my own stuff, without the need for external Storage?

Currently the internal 16GB is not accessible for the purposes of bulk data transfer/deletion nor backup. I'd say the key issue here is that you cannot currently backup any projects saved to the 16GB drive so that effectively makes it unsuitable for any serious work.

Until Akai sort this out (if ever), just accept that the 16GB drive is filled with crap, ignore it, buy yourself a Samsung SSD, install that and save everything to that instead. The SSD will be accessible via USB for backup and bulk transfer purposes.

There is a way to do it although it is likely out of the technical scope of most people on here.

We won't have any interesting information until someone opens up their Live and connects a serial ttl to the mainboard and starts messing around with the linux based OS.

High light the folder you want to delete on the internal drive and hit delete. It's that simple. First thing I did when I got the Mpc was delete the factory content. I highlighted the internal drive Mpc Documents folder and deleted everything in one click so make sure you do want to do this.

Now whenever I make new key programs or drum programs that I want I save, I save them to the internal. Super organized as well. Super easy that way. No way to bulk transfer to the Internal drive as stated a few posts up but also you don't have to keep the factory content and just live with it..

I also use a 64gb sd card I go back and forth to the computer with. Super fast and easy to transfer and save the new files from the sd to the internal. Or an easy way to backup the internal. Or leave them on the Sd card. People are making a huge deal over this, mainly ones who don't have the mpc. You can delete the sh*t content and replace it with your own. Very simple.

Today I'v lost ALL of my content on my internal drive. Projects; Samples; Folders; Factory Content;... Everything!

Especially the live set of the band that I'm playing with is very bummer to have it lost.

Yesterday things still worked fine. Today after startup, everything seemed to be erased. I didn't touch any settings / delete buttons or whatsoever.

AKAI, it's time to wake up bro.

Very disappointed in this brand.

First the MPD226 with over-sensitive malfunctioning pads. Now this MPC Live with this and other issues...

I don't believe in it anymore...

Is this how Akai works.
I think they don't care at all for customer who already purchased their product.
Style of them makes me **** fed up.... TOTALLY

Do NOT touch anything on the built-in drive. Deleting ANYTHING can result in your MPC having issues at some point down the line. Akai themselves have cautioned against deleting anything on this drive. Seriously people - get an SSD or use a proper SD Card for storage.

I get that the OP finds the included factory content useless, but recommending you just delete folders is not wise at all. :WTF: :Sigh: :hmmm:

All of this x100..

What the **** are people thinking? This isn’t the older mpc’s where you can delete everything and be good. The default internal drive structure has ties to factory content. Don’t delete.

Use SD card and/or USB drive and/or install your own hdd. The flowers is wrong and yall don’t listen..

is there any noticement about this ridiculous issue?
If there will be problem cuz of deleting file from intetnal storage because internal file was deleted by any kinda mistake, why akai doesn't lock or protect those precious files from internal storage or make official announcement for customers

i've never ever seen any warning messege at all before I delete,,,,
so you think that it's not that wise to anyone like me who easily deleted onboard factory contents?? right??

Ahh one anothet update from akai support
still now,,, there is nothing to help me.
actually i got email from inmusic
but they sent me file for mpc live,, not MPC ONE, even though i absolutely asked and mentioned A FILE FOR MPC ONE....

this makes me more getting crazy. they didn't check and test file before sending to me.. is this way they work??
