why my mpc wouldnt read my zip drive?

my mpc keep saying that there is no scsi drive connected to the mpc, but the zip is connected to it. Basically i just want to know what is the problem and can someone help me out.

did you set the scsi id? Did you connect the cables when the power is turned OFF? did you put a disk in hte drive before you turn on the mpc?

yeah i did all that was listed just now and in the type field it is saying ??. So what does it mean? I turned the mpc on without the power cable in it and then connect the power cable and since then this been happening and it isnt reading the drive at all. Do anybody know whats the problem?

yeah this means the disk is corrupt. try formating it or using a new disk. The zip as well could be faulty.
Remember to always to turn off mpc before taking out the zip drive, to be honest you can save a whole heap of bother if you got a internal one instead.

i figured it out. it was that the pins inside the cable were bent.
