MPC 2.8 - Should I update?

Hi all - I'm curious what you think of 2.8 now that it's been out for a bit. I have an MPC One and it seems like I might use mutes if I upgrade but I'm very interested in the USB midi update. Am I making a mistake in updating or is it safe to jump in

2.8.1 is the latest (which includes some bug fixes), and yes - it absolutely is worth upgrading just for the proper MIDI implementation alone (including USB MIDI), IMHO.

Whenever you Update....Make sure you keep Previous Firmware Updates in a Folder Somewhere. If i dont like the Update, I can always go back to whatever Firmware was best for me!

Updating Firmware is a good way to See if its right for your Workflow.

I stayed on 2.6 after experimenting with 2.7+

Now 2.8 has a few things moved around, pretty solid (with a few minor inconvenient Bugs...lol)

When you update to a new version, don't just load and then save your projects over each other. It's a good idea to save them to a new folder, otherwise you may not be able to role your older projects backwards.

I think you gave up to quick. Since one of the updates to the system and introduction of AIR fx - step up. The only thing that I'm missing from Live 2 - just looking at the papers is CV outs. I still don't have much of analogue / modular systems to utilise that, but I'm sure it would push me to add something to my set up.

Before updating, the first thing that I do it's to disconnect / take out the Hard Disc. After that making a copy on the comp.
