dps12i effects?????

i need to get some tracks mixdown and recorded... can anybody please give me detailed instructions on how to use the damn effects on this thing.. every time i try and figure it out i end up just turning the thing off and giving up... im tryin to add certain effects to different tracks.. please HELP

it does seem a bit complicated at first. i'm guessing the manual isn't helping? it's been a while since i've used it and i'm not about to jump on now, maybe this'll help...
