Shout out for lil peep I guess?

Music genres in the past 20+ years have turned pretty much into a free-for-all. I realized this as soon as I discovered there's a genre of music called "witch house". :smoker: Funny enough, Grimes (as in Elon "Tesla/Space X" Musk's girlfriend) is credited as helping pioneer the genre back in the day.

This.
I WANTED the initial group, I felt there was no reason for us NOT to get the first round of plug-ins, and honestly, felt there was a NEED for the first round - sure you could create your own sounds and synths via creative methods, but when it came down to it, sometimes you just needed a simple bassline to keep things going, and if you were using the Live, you needed this in the box. This next batch however is ALL icing on the cake.

Seems to me there is lot of people scared of a synth :WTF: , people stop crapping yourself because you don’t know or don’t won’t to use synth, you can still use it same can’t you?? FFS. I for instance love idea of getting new sound design possibilities! It only expands your horizons you know :DDD and drum synths? I love that even more I think;) you guys need to wake up from 1990 as today’s technology pushed mpc well into workstation territory;)
Have great day and remember kids, it is still sampler too:DDD so go sample :smoker:

Very interested to hear the Mellotron and Solina! :worthy:
There may only be a few of us, but both are items I've sampled into the MPC (from emulations).

I get that people want a pure sampler, but users like me bought the MCP to be able to take studio tracks out on stage without a laptop. Having some soft synths that can be tweaked live, (instead of sampling phrases) means one less piece of hardware to lug around. i don't think anything can ever be an "all in one" box, but drum synths and plug-ins were making me consider Maschine+. I would have to overcome some of my long term NI gripes first, but I was moving towards "forgive and forget". Now I don't have to be so damn noble !

1. Are you doing this now with Tubesynth, Bassline, Electric?

2. What kind of live parameter tweaks do you want to make to your soft synths?

3. As a live performer, would you prioritize tweakability over stability?

Nope, but I would with a Mellotron and Soliina. I could use Tubesynth, but not Bassline or ever Electric.

Depends on the synth, i would write tracks with some dynamic elements programmed in, the more capable the synth the more stuff I might try out. In any case I would prefer a synth plug-in than sampling a four bar pattern of a synth, as I tend to use stuff that fall over the bar, or has strange signatures - it gets complicated to set up samples for that, and easier to just port the midi from Daw to MPC.

No, I would definitely prefer Akai tackle bugs first, and add features later for sure. However they are not going to, never have, and almost nobody seems to do that, so it's like raging at the rain. They add features to attract customers, and as features go, these interest me more than many they have added in the past. Admittedly I'm probably not the core MPC audience.

You want those sounds in your set, I can understand that. However, a KEYGROUP is more than sufficient for both of those machines. The desire for a Mellotron plugin for an MPC is especially ironic.

There's a seemingly inexhaustible list of classic synth emulations customers could request. Given the work already invested in sampling functionality in the MPC it makes sense to improve upon that rather than trying to reinvent the wheel (especially when so many others do it better).

Id argue that;

Increasing Autosample time
Increasing the number of velocity layers
Adding a second LFO
Adding random and smooth as LFO shape
Adding Sample Start an LFO destination (along with just about every other existing keygroup parameter :WTF: )

would serve the "we want more instrument plugins" crowd just as much as adding a particular flavor of instrument plugin.

I can admit however, that anyone looking for a FM plugin has a good point. An FM synth plugin would fill a sound generation gap that exists among the current plugin assortment. Something like that could also serve those looking for a "drum synth" while staying flexible.

Personally, I'd like to see an Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer, etc. Not necessary at all, but just quality of life type additions.

While I'm going off on quality of life, will you all allow me to reiterate just how LACKING the user interface is in the desktop software. Developer time needs to be spent on keybindings and menu navigation before anything else imho. Every once and a while I fire up Bitwig as a sanity check, just to see if i'm being unreasonable. Nope. I'm not. You have to use your mouse for far too much on the desktop.

How about this. I will request any synth plugin that anyone wants, 8 days a week, if we can just all get on board and demand that they finish keybindings and UI for the desktop software.

When there's consensus and a clear message from the customer base things get fixed. But when there isn't, it's usually who speaks the loudest. Honestly, you can't blame them. It's hard to know what to work on when you're hearing about 100 different things being broken from 80 different users. Especially when people post about "bugs" that don't actually exist.

This is such a ignorant question, most likely as a result of music genre you're making (BTW, not a dig at your music style, just an observation, like I don't understand the need for "lazy chop" :D ).

In most electronic music you modulate almost everything the synth has to offer - amp & filter envelopes, filter cutoff, resonance & drive; oscillator parameters, wave shapers / folders, insert FX blend & parameters, etc. That's why my blood boils when I see replies "just use the autosampler". How about no? Keygroups cover like 20% of the expression I can get from an actual plugin.
