My beats dont sync to my tempo

So I just bought the mpc one. Its fun but when Im setting up my drum pattern, it sounds in sync when I do it...but when I play it back it its out of loop with the melody.

I use the quantize but not sure what the 1/4 or 1/8 .....mean? I always keep it at 1/8 at 200 bpm.

Any help to keep the keep in sync with the bpm and temp?

Wouldn't hurt read up on time signatures.

Check the grid... quantize may be putting your melody or beats late or early... practice helps a ton here...

Also if you can get a good backbone beat... this is when I turn off quantize so I can groove more and have what I play sound more like what I recorded

Just got my Akai PMC One Plus I am having the same problem, I have had the moc500 mc909 but the metronome is throwing me off and when I hit the pads my beat is off tempo. Will have to do some more adjusting.

Joking aside. shift + tc. or double tap tc to bring up the quantization menu. You can set your granularity to whatever you want. the faster you go the more ticks per second but that may not be what you are after if your drums are at 100 bpm but the track tempo is 200. 1/8 or 1/4 maybe. i find myself using 1/8 in tempos above around 160 bpm because the mpc screws it up.

Definitely increase your quantize resolution to 1/16. Any particular reason do you keep your tempo at 200bpm? Does the music style require it? I personally find it easier to punch in drums more precisely at lower speed, and adjust the tempo afterwards.
