Now its time for Another Full Fledged Flagship Unit. Hopefully with A Design Team thats NOT concerned with the Politics of makin it Economical for Corporate Profits.

Back to The Drawing Board Specs. Filled to the Brim with Features. So they can then put out more Scaled down versions of itself in the Coming Years!

First setup to have a serious beta setup, and able to tackle BUGS quickly!

1. Start from the ground up!
2. Come with a mother board that will have attachments that are OPTIONAL no more it's set like this or that.
3. Come with 16Gigs of ram optional up to 128Gigs. Use DDR3/4 ram and be able to apply on that chipset.
4. HDMI port on the back to add amy size screen you want. Don't need touch scrren.
5. Mouse enabke for those that want it.
6. Disk streaming.
7. Dope mic pre amps and converters. With +48 Phantom power.
8. USB slots.
9. Get with with a few top level companies like Spectrasonics to get a scaled down version of Omnisphere 2. Eric Persing would jump all over that.

I'll leave space for others to add. This coulf be the center of one's studio. I would buy into that! More DAW like standalone.

This.

And I think the expansion options would be key. Sell me a base unit, and let me decide some of the options to expand it.

Me...Personally....I dont Imprison myself to One Brand of Equipment. I'll Use Whatever Equipment is out there to get a Desired Sound.

Every Manufacturer Lacks Something!

I'd subtract.

What you described would be the X MK2. Remove the HDMI, mouse support & mic pres for the Live MK3 version, and I'd be all over it.[/quote]
   Awhhh Hell nah you can't swap what I got for a NEW machine of the MPC series for the MK3 Live, That would be wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyy down the road mang LOL

Hell Yeah! I think that's why I am so pissed at Akai now. You really don't have options to upgrade it to what you want it to be, even I had more options on the 2000xl. I could get the 8 outs or not. I could add in effects or not, I could add that MFC Filter to it or not. We were stuck at 32MB. It's 2020 give us all around options.

When I had the live I only used like 2% of it, WTF  That made no sense after a while. My computer took over after that.

     Oh crap!!! Word? Dammmmmmm. That's what happened to me, and my Live had no problems. I didn't like the direction Akai was going and the Live was limited, I am so use to blowing things out and having options. last time I was restricted like that was with Avid, and I promised I will never do that again. My MPC Live was sold! When you have 64Gigs of Ram optional to 128Gigs of ram versus 2Gig and no OPTIONS, that leaves you scratching your head like WTF.

But I feel you. You have to move the way you're comfortable in your setup.

True, but when the STANDARD FEATURES ARE NOT OPTIONAL AND LACKING SOMETHING IS THE HELL WRONG!!! For real. That's why I have Reason 11 and Studio One, both are dope and whichever one lacks something the other has. I was told way back in the day learn at least 3 DAWS. But I don't care for having multiple drum machines, I like one and go!

I dont know but I hope Akai is already planning on Big Sur support. Network MIDI driver is broken, which means no sync with Logic for me anymore.

And for some reason, its only mounting the first three ports on the USB hub connected to it when its in controller mode now. Just found that out when I tried to update my Bass Station about 30 minutes ago and the Mac couldn't see it anymore. Not sure if that's cause of Big Sur or not, but I know I had no problem mounting everything through here the last time I needed to use Sound Diver. At least now I know why VirtualBox doesn't see my Blofeld anymore but can still see my AMT8.

I think the newest beta broke something driver wise, or Apple is tightening down on stuff living in the /Extensions folder still.. My 828x stopped working in a hub a couple weeks ago, and has to be plugged directly into my Mac mini now, and the Network Midi driver worked at some point because I last tracked something in Logic Sept 26th. That would've been beta 7 or 8 around then though, we're at 10 now.

Anybody thinking about buying a new Mac better buy it now before you're stuck with Big Sur and nothing works until right before macOS Bakersfield comes out next year and we have to start all over again.

They should be able to have us customize the plugins that we have on the machine... I mean, they did add them on there... They could just have it where they allow people to make plugins (in the same vein as expansions) and allow us to pick which plugins to upload to the machine for use or something...

Or is that too much?

Wait holdup on mac your motu 828 stopped working?

Interesting im on win 10.. and I can't trace back when my 828es started disconnecting.. I have been using only the mpc audio card to create inside of the mpc software.. when I try in cubase with my motu 828es it keeps disconnecting.. I was point to a windows update.. interesting to say the lease...

What about it? Install it on your Mac and watch half your shit break, its fun! You can read all you need to know about it at Macrumors where there's a whole forum dedicated to it.

@Certified Beatz - No it works but for some reason it stopped working when I had it plugged into my USB hub. Ive had it plugged into an Anker 7 port USB3 hub since day 1 and its always worked every time. After one of the beta updates, it just didn't show up and I thought Apple finally flipped the switch to break kext's. For whatever reason it works great when its plugged straight in but it doesn't show up on the hub anymore. I thought it was really weird that now the MPC only mounts the first three things plugged into its hub too. Luckily all I need for Sound Diver is the first two ports for my Blofeld and the AMT8 MIDI interface. If I want to update something from the Mac through I have to juggle around my Bass Station II and TD-3 now to that third port. Everything used to mount directly through the MPC but not anymore.. The really odd part is in System Profiler, my 7 port RSHTech hub is listed as a '4 Port USB Hub' but it won't even mount 4 things, only the first three. Man Im jealous I REALLY wanted to replace my mk2 with the ES but it was too expensive at the time. I scored the 828X for $200 from some dude down in Long Beach who had like six he needed to get rid of. I should've bought another one or two from him while I had the chance and didn't even think about it!

Ik guessing he is talking about a Mac beta os and tbh, don't complain about a beta when you purposely installed it. Report bugs don't complain about them, for real.

I dont see a single complaint in my post. Just an announcement of some issues up ahead and some wishes that Akai is already working on it. But you interpret it however you want, whatever works for you.

Either way, if I was an Akai beta tester, nothing personal, but Im not risking breaking a legally binding NDA contract to come tell everybody here what might or might not get released before we're all dead.
