Otherwise everybody would have a formula 1 car for doing groceries and dropping kids off at school.
Not when it comes to the MPC Software. Notice how they never use the software in demo videos. Even the people who receive them early for beta testing. Never use the software in their videos. The software and controller mode feels, looks, and works like an after thought. The Mixer sections is a mess, the drivers are mess, the crashing, the latency, the freezing have become worse since 2.8.1
If the musician is a seasoned professional, they expect certain level functionality and reliability. It's all about trusting the gear you have and if you can't trust the gear, that's a major a problem. Also with the COVID shut downs, we have the time to deep dive into the machines. Which has revealed more flaws of the software/controller aspect and the standalone hardware.

No gear is perfect! But the Live/X/One are near. Standalone that is.
Look at us... we're crying about what our units CAN'T do. Instead of embracing the Pluses.
We all had different reasons for F*ckin Wit Akai....Me...it was all about cutting the Mouse Cord and Gettin it in outside of the box. Other people feel more secure attached to the Matrix
I get it.
I'm talking about the software, which works fine for the very basic thing. But anything past that, be prepared for the crash of 2020.

Perhaps it's due to the latest, Microsoft Windows 10 updates which broke many things. I've tried to use the MPC SOFTWARE exclusively for a week and it needs improvements.
The only workaround for poorly written driver, is to not use them. My week long deep dive kept bringing back the same question. Why can't I use the software as a utility program to control the MPC, while in standalone. This would make it much easier to use for mixing and editing.
