Hi,

is it possible to create a composite measures project with the Mpc One? Like changing from 4/4 or 5/4 to 3/4 or 6/8, 9/8, 11/8 in the song?
Otherwise what other mpc would allow it?
I didn't found the answer in the manual.
Thanks a lot!

Not perfectly sure what you're asking for.

BUT.. you can sadly (still, on the X at least) NOT alter the Time Signature of an already recorded bar within a sequence..

You can either set a default TimeSig, or you can can insert new bars within a sequence that has a new TimeSig..

So you can have a single sequence that runs through different TimeSigs, or you can set different ones for different sequences..

On the MPC 4000, you could edit the TimeSigs of an already recorded sequence, it would then add/cut beats from the end of a bar.. So that was WAY more convenient and fast compared to the workarounds I personally would use with the X.. Not being able to change the TimeSigs on already recorded bars is one of the reason I can't simply sell or trade away my MPC 4000..

But yes, there's these workarounds, and if you start with an already decided set of TimeSigs, you can set up your sequences from the start and then record..

Or, if you are fine with inserting new bars with a different TimeSig.. That's usually how I do it when I want to change things up a bit.. I just insert new bars..

But would have been so much faster for the creative process if you could edit the ones you already recorded.
