Home Recording with MPC One as the HUB

Newbie to digital recording and using a DAW, but I plan to finally lock myself in my room and learn ProTools. I've been paying an engineer for years and I need to just rip the band-aid off.

Suggestion for equipment to go along with my MPC One & Protools configuration? Budget is pretty open, I've been saving my pennies.

What interface would you recommend? I'm a sample-based producer who also wans to incorporate a few analog synths, but I won't be recording multiple instruments at once, but again my budget is open.

Also, I have a DJ mixer currently, but also thinking of getting an 8-12 channel just so everything can go into that then pump everything into the mpc one for sampling? Sorry for the long post, any help would be appreciated.

since the mpc one only has a stereo out, i would suggest a 4 input audio interface with midi. Connect the audio cables, and set up the mpc to midi-sync as a slave to protools as master.

you can also look into the option of exploding tracks in the mpc, so you can import your seperate tracks in pro-tools. More about that in the manual.

yeah sure, you can get a mixer and sample directly into your mpc. Or you can connect the output of the mixer to your audio interface.

for cheap and not too cheap, the focusrite 4in4out is good. has a spot for midi din.
