AKAI Professional MPC Live II Retro Edition

Same Live II goodness in a chassis reminiscent of the 2000 era of machines...

Looks styling to me... though if it has that crumby rubbery finish like the original... I'd be concerned that it'll just look dirty as heck from use.

Does it come with SCSI and a Floppy Drive?

Honestly, I think it's ugly.

I still can't grasp that built in speaker.

That said, there's a lot of things i can't grasp. Money, punana, a decent hot meal.

But for the rest, life is great!

Just like the built-in speaker and the recent US election, I'd wager that "retro" edition will be just as divisive.

If those buttons are still the rubbery squishy kind, then that's yucky. I'd prefer the hard plastic "clicky" kind on the MPC X and One.

The other two have plastic clicky buttons? WTF AKAI?

Ehh, a little too vintage for me. Still only interested in red pads and matching knobs. Not yet up for changing the pads after watching a vid on it though. And all the red knobs I've come across are more maroon than red.

The black screen surround and knobs throw the whole look off... At least the gold editions of the MPC Live MK1 and MPC X had the matching gold knobs...
