Feature Request: Velocity to amp envelope release

Even when I'm only using the MPC Live for drum sounds and percussion, I really miss the option to have velocity modulate the release time on the amp envelope. For vibes, bells and metal percussion it's a really useful feature. I get that the MPC won't have full sampler options for recreating organic instruments, but this one would still be useful for drums and percussion.

what do you exactly mean with ''velocity modulate the release time on the amp envelope''? Is it different than putting in automation of the amp release of a pad?

I mean you should be able to set how much velocity increases the decay of the amp envelope, in the same way you can set velocity to increase volume. A hard struck mallet sound should allow more of the sample trail to be heard, soft struck would decay sooner. Battery lets you do this. I think all my older Akai rack samplers had this as well.

I'm talking in terms of creating dynamic playable instruments/programs, so nothing to do with automation for stuff that is already sequenced.

MPC4000 definitely had this. Even funner, map the velocity to both release time and filter cut off for example, already miss my modulation matrix on the 4k. Still getting to know the Live but soon will fire them both up together.

Akai obviously understands this, as they included this option in the new Drum Synths. You can set velocity to affect any parameter including the decay of a sound.

Allow modulation of decay or release by the LFO too. I've been looking for a way to do this today and I'm absolutely stunned (and more than a little pissed off) that the MPC is unable to do this simple trick on drums. This is techno HiHats most simple modulation. I can't believe I can't set this up.
