I know Akai keeps saying not to upgrade to OS X Big Sur yet. Has anyone else done it? I did a clean install. MPC 2.8.1 and the MPC Live 2 drivers installed without any problems. The expansion packs did as well. I haven't run into any problems using it yet. Think Akai will eventually certify 2.8.1 as being compatible, or wait until the next version?

Works well for me too don’t know what the fuss was about. Big Sur is mostly just a reskin of Catalina...

It’s a little more than a reskin of Catalina. I was able to install Catalina on my late 2012 Mac Mini (I waited about 6 months until all the software I use was certified to run on it). I can’t install Big Sur on it because presumably the Wi-Fi card or another on board device isn’t officially supported.

Big Sur is Apple finally switching from OS X to OS XI. It’s designed to run on Apple Silicon, as they’re switching away from Intel like they did from Motorola processors back in 2005.
