I'm scratching my head on this one  ???  My setup consists mainly of hardware. I have a PC and I'd like to use it to edit snds and master on. What card do I need for my computer? ( Compaq Presario not sure of model...2002 ) I'm looking for a card that I can send my song into via 1/4" and/or Midi and playback the same snds I sent to it. To make it easier, I wanna be able to start posting my music on the web. What all do I need in my Pc? What is everyones process and software for posting once the song is done?

ok, since the mpc is 16-bit, you need a 16 bit soundcard. since most peeps will not be ditchin the 2kxl for a 4k anytime soon, the 16 bit soundcards is right up your alley. The chip on the sc, what actually processes the sound is important, the SB live series, had a nice chip in it, inexpensive and good sound, the trouble was the I/O was mini phono's, not the best way to get sound into the pc, so I use an emu APS, its got 4 1/4" ins 2 1/4" outs and has efx built into the card, so it dont tax the processor to use 'em plus digital i/o which i use for my i/o. nice card with good hardware on the in outs, they didnt skimp on it, plus u can cop it used for 50 bucks.
go with that, man, what matters most is the way to get the sound into the card.[/color]
