100% if the machines are that bad, then stop using it and/or get rid of it. There are some professional people on here, who I talk to on the regular. The things they have issue with, actually hurts their work. So they don't even use the machine anymore. As a power user, I definitely feel that my request are not being addressed.

Song mode bugs, exporting bugs, software bugs. Here's one everyday workflow issue that I have. The cumbersome MIDI learn features. I've mapped a control surface solo, pans, mutes, and volume but I can't globally save the mapping to use in any project. Now to correct that, I mapped it and made it a project template. The other issue is anything that was made not using that template, I would have to remap the controller for every project. :WTF:

As far as the hate goes, that's their only way of getting attention. I don't even need to mention the names.

As I've said before, despite the bugs... I can happily make music on the current MPC line for 5-10 years even if I had just 2.7/2.8/2.9... they all offer an awful lot to work with. I certainly get some of the workflow stuff that gets in the way, but *shrug*... I still find the current MPC line far more capable than previous iterations in quite a few ways...

Sure you can pick out your pet feature from any given MPC since the 60 and point to why the current line up is lacking... but for what the current generation is I am definitely satisfied, and have been since the 2.6/2.7 time frame.

Dont get me wrong, the electro sounds are actually pretty decent but you know what Im talking about. Splice and Ableton round 3. At least this ones useful if you're into those sounds and don't already have like 15000 drum samples already. Lately haven't been doing shit but dnb/jungle stuff so if it don't sound like an Amen or Funky Drummer, I aint hearing it haha.

Im with NearTao though, as long as they dont break it more, I still get on with it just fine. I just need my EMU or I have to do alot of prep work in other places/apps when I want to really get into the sound design side of things. Otherwise all your tracks come out sounding like a Splice/Loopmasters (or MPC Expansion) paint by numbers kit. The sequencer side is killer, with 2.8 its finally a modern MPC in that respect. I dont 'perform' a lot with it aside from recording so I probably dont run into 99% of the bugs in it. All I want is the sampler to actually be a real sampler and the MPC could be my one stop shop for track creation. All I even use Logic for nowadays is the mix down part of things, and lately Ive just been recording the mix outputs from my console and finishing it there. Just give us a sampler (and an update that makes me coffee)!! :smoker:

It really comes down to one simple question: How do you (people) use the machine. If they want to sample, chop it up, and replay it. It will work. If they want to load sounds and play them via midi keyboard, it will work. If they want to push external midi equipment, it will work.

For some styles of music, the MPC can be the start and finish. But for other styles, it good for building skeletons idea.

+1 ... and there are definitely styles of music that the MPC is sub optimal or absolute trash to work with... definitely not going to be doing generative or procedural music on it any time soon for example :D

Man about this time last year, there used to be a guy on Gearslutz that got so bent out of shape that he couldn't do his odd time signature Flamenco guitar stuff with his Force/MPC it was hilarious.

Procedural music is way out of the scope for MPC's, even though they could do it. Akai as a company is not forward thinking like that.

I could see that... for musician who play in real time, having the ability to change time signature on the fly is really missing on these machines.

Facts.

There are a couple of annoying bugs but overall it's great how far its come.

The Drumsynth is definitely an addition and not a subtraction.

It's simple. If you want Akai to grow they need to focus on selling more products. They already have your money. Unfortunately the fixing department is not as big the creating department. In the long run we win though.

Don't tell me you wouldn't trade the limitation of the classic MPCs for a few bugs but a sh*t ton more features in a similar sandbox. If you wouldn't you wouldn't even be in this thread.

In the mean time we hurt together.

F*ckinn drum pads mute when I mute the midi? Wut? :WTF: :Sigh:

Well if we all remember back to NAMM, they were showing it off there, although I don't think they were doing it very loudly. The only reason the non-NAMM folks knew was because someone snuck pictures of the display showing it online. Its actually pretty decent for what it is, the 909 and 808s in it will do the trick but man, there is so much hanging that needs to be wrapped up, they're never going to have this thing solid and stable until they just STOP and tell everybody NO MORE **** TOYS LET US FIX IT FIRST.

But they also have to deal with this mindset the younger gen seems to have that you buy a half finished product and expect the manufacturer to keep it evolving.. That's not how it works. Its a tool. You buy it to do the job it does. I'm not sitting around waiting for Estwing to send me a firmware update for my hammer that lets me start using it as a screwdriver. That's what my screwdriver is for and that's what all the other drum synths I have are for. They dont belong in a drum sampler really.

Just stop posting man, people have valid complains about a product they paid €1500 for and you're here doubting if they can do anything with the machine. Just shut up.

So just to get it straight; just because you paid 1500 and notice some bugs or flaws you can go full emotional my little pony and I can't say anything about that or put it in perspective (for myself)? What are you, republican?

You might want to lookup something called ''freedom of speech''. It's in the dictionary next to the word ''cuntbag''.

 awwwh crap

If l spend over $100 for the MPC it should work.lf l get a few bugs, fix it. I make my money using my equipment lm not a hobbyist. Even if l was l still want my machine to work. Why do l need to use work arounds when the machine should do what its suppose to do?

1. Akai from the jump need PROPER BETA TESTING! To get rid of bugs . They just say here ya go run along and play.

2. Don't give me a half baked machine, blow that crap out! Give me options! Like, put in 8 gigs ram but build it so the dimm slots can take up to 64 gigs of ram. Let me spend the extra money to blow it out instead of giving me a regulated limitation. Ine dam thing l hate. Give HDMI port on the back let me decide if l want to connect a bigger screen. Please don't tell me they can't do it, the MPC 3000 has VGA port on it. Roland MV8800 has it!
Mouse control, maybe l don't wanna do tuoch screen. Can you imagine having all the synths from. Air oike Hybrid 3, Xpand2 etc on that? Get a midi keyboard and go!

That X is suppose to be a monster. Its 2020 not 94' if people want to be untethered from a computer the MPC should be built like a computer with the capabilities to maje music. I couldn't make it the center of my stoo, it's not powerful enough.

Bu lm talking options here not actually putting everything in it.

I just wanted to chime in on this topic of 2.9 why is it Akai keeps botching up this software. Every update throws my work flow off. Last update the assign to pad and pad parameters changed and now the pad copy doesn’t work any longer. Has anyone else noticed this or am I buggin??

If someone can please link me to 2.7 or 2.6 that be great those were the last updates that worked with my workflow.
