2 serious Bugs in 2.9

As much as I like the new Drum Synth I face some serious bugs in 2.9:

All my projects have lost MIDI Port und -Channel information, I have to manually edit these
and
I´m unable to save a project if external hardware is part of the project (MIDI data?), regardless if I want to save on internal memory or SD-card.

Does anybody else recognized these dealbreakers?

Haven't updated since 2.8.0 and now I see why again. Sucks for you, hope they fix it fast.

It seems that I´m the only one who has these problems with 2.9 - strange.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I skipped 2.8 and updated directly from 2.7.

Anyway, I now downgraded to 2.8 and now I can save my projects again, thats the essential thing.

That MIGHT be it. 2.8 had a rather big update to the MIDI system which may have thrown things off. Updated every single time here and no problems on 2.9, everything is smooth sailing as usual. Each track of mine has at least 4-6 tracks triggering another sampler, two tracks of Waldorfs, a Roland XV, Bass Station and a TD-3, etc. Id be dead in the water if it messed with any of my ports!

You're certainly note alone with the MIDI port assignment bugs, especially in controller mode.

My unit came pre-installed with 2.7, manually updated to 2.8 since it already was out. Updated to 2.9, can‘t find any bugs you described.

In the meantime I did a rollback to 2.8 and updated again to 2.9 with no effect.

Now I´m working with 2.8. I´m quite pleased with the improved responsiveness of the touchscreen. At least something to be happy about.

I spoke to Akai this week and they are aware of the midi out port issues in 2.9. in controller mode. They are currently working to fix this software bug.

2.9 update not recognizing midi out ports in controller mode and it only recognizes only 4 USB ports on a 7 port usb 3.0 powered hub. All ports are available in stand alone. This is a problem because I need to track the audio of my hardware synthesizers in the MPC Software or any other DAW. Akai needs to fix this ASAP!

since 2.9 , I have this bug where the touchscreen stops working if I have the queue links screen open and press the Data wheel button , the screen freezes , pisses me off

Hmmmm I just tried it...and my screen isnt freezing. I'll keep tryin to duplicate that

Do you know for sure if this was working before 2.9? I noticed the same thing. I have a 7 port RSHTech hub connected to mine, Emagic AMT8, Blofeld, Bass Station, TD-3, SQ-1, USB-Ethernet adapter..

In standalone mode, one of my synths gets dropped now. Noticed it opening Sound Diver a couple weeks ago. AMT8 was passing through, but my Blofeld wasnt showing up. Figured it was something with VirtualBox (they've broken the USB stuff before and my AMT8 wouldn't even work on the last version), but then the last BassStation firmware dropped. Same thing when I went into controller mode. Couldn't find it. Worked directly connected, and if I pulled the USB hub out of the MPC and straight to the Mac, there was everything.

Now I have everything moved around so at least the SoundDiver stuff will work when I open it. But when its time to update or archive the BassStation or TD-3 I have to move them around.

The odd part is, when it would only show the first 3 or 4 ports, my USB-Ethernet adapter (which is a USB 3 device) showed up and that's plugged into port 7 on the hub. Its almost like the MPC is only passing through one of the USB chips. Each chip handles 3-4 ports, there's actually two USB chips in a 7 port hub.

Before 2.9 all MiDI out ports worked fine in controller mode. USB midi port worked in controller mode with 2.9, that was with a 4 port USB hub. So I purchase a 7 port USB hub thinking this would be a workaround until Akai fixes the issue. Only 4 ports are displayed in controller mode. You are probably right the MPC X doesn't recognize the second chip in a 7 port USB hub.

Yeah I can't remember running into the issue on 2.8 here so it must have shown up in 2.9. I wasnt able to run my VirtualBox for awhile because of a bug that was introduced with some USB chipsets, for months it wouldn't mount anything so I never paid attention to what was mounting on the Mac other than the MPC itself so I could back it up. First noticed it about a month ago when Virtual Box got released for Big Sur and they finally fixed it. The Bass Station's last update came out and that thing was nowhere to be found when I put the MPC in controller mode. It was weird that it found my USB Ethernet adapter though and that's plugged into port 7, but its also an USB 3 device so maybe its something to do with that..
