Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hello there!

I was wondering if it is possible to share one external scsi jaz drive on a daisy chain with a pc and akai mpc 2000xl.

Id like to do this in order to tranfer samples, programs etc from the pc onto the jaz (through cable), then load them onto the mpc (from jaz to mpc).

The jaz drive has 2 scsi ports. Im figuring i could connect my pc's scsi card to one port, and the mpc to the other. This would elimate lots of disk swapping as both the pc and mpc would have direct access to the same jaz drive and disk.

Let me know on your thoughts, and thanks!

peace! :!:

This is possible but you would need an extra disk just for `transfers` since PC tend to corrupt the partitioning info of MPC disks.

Send data to transfer disk. Load from MPC. Put in production disk. Save. Done.

Not something I suggest since other issues come into play with having 2 SCSI initiators on the same chain.
